โฝ Pause & Reflect: Lessons from the World Cup
The FIFA World Cup has given us more than great goals and exciting matches. Itโs also a reminder of some powerful truths we can apply to our walk with God.
Many of the so-called โunderdogโ teams have shown incredible determination. They may not have the reputation of the giants they face, but they refuse to give up. They keep fighting until the final whistle.
And while we celebrate the goals, every goal is the result of teamwork. Players defend, support, recover from mistakes, and keep pressing forward. No one stands around waiting for success to come to them.
Here are 5 lessons we can learn:
1. God uses the unlikely.
The underdogs remind us that God often works through those others overlook.
โGod chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.โ โ 1 Corinthians 1:27
1. Donโt give up when youโre behind.
Keep trusting God and keep moving forward.
โLet us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.โ โ Galatians 6:9
1. Play your part faithfully.
Every player contributes to the goal. Every believer has a purpose.
โNow you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.โ โ 1 Corinthians 12:27
1. Get back up after mistakes.
Donโt let setbacks stop you.
โThough the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.โ โ Proverbs 24:16
5. Finish strong.
Keep running your race until the end.
โI have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.โ โ 2 Timothy 4:7
