Daily Dose: “Change Your Thinking”
Scripture Reading:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)
Reflection:
A new season requires a new mindset!
As we welcome the Spring season, a time that symbolises new beginnings, new hope, preparation and growth, let us remember this:
You cannot step into a new season while holding on to an old mindset.
The Bible says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7)
Consider Moses. He saw himself as a shepherd who was inadequate but God saw a deliverer. Moses asked, “Who am I?” God answered, “I will be with you.” (Exodus 3:12). Moses was focused on his limitations. God was focused on his potential.
Sometimes, we become our own greatest limitation because of the way we see ourselves. Perhaps failure has told you, “You can’t.” Perhaps rejection has told you, “You’re not enough. Perhaps your past has convinced you, “You’ll never change.” But hear this today:
YOUR PAST DOES NOT HAVE THE FINAL WORD OVER YOUR FUTURE!
Henry Ford is commonly credited with saying, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t— you’re right.” So change the conversation in your mind:
“I cannot” → “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
“I am alone” → “God is with me.”
“I am not enough” → “His grace is sufficient for me.”
“I am afraid” → “God has given me power, love and a sound mind.”
The next level does not begin when everything around you changes. Sometimes, it begins when something inside you changes. Change your thinking. Change your perspective. Change your confession. And allow God to renew your mind.
Motivational Quote:
“A new level often begins when an old mindset finally agrees with what God has already said.”
Today’s Challenge:
When a negative thought comes today, don’t entertain it. Instead replace it.
Replace fear with faith.
Replace doubt with God’s Word.
Replace “I can’t” with “God can.”
Closing Prayer:
Lord Jesus, renew my mind. Help me to see myself through Your Word and not through my past, failures, fears, or the opinions of others. Remove negative thinking, insecurity and doubt. Give me a new perspective, stronger faith and the courage to step into the new season You have prepared for me. Remind me that I am not alone. You are with me and that is enough.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Declaration:
I will not think like my old self.
God is renewing my mind.
My past will not define me.
Fear will not control me.
Failure will not stop me.
I am moving forward.
I am growing.
I am trusting God.
I am ready for the next level!
