Day 10 of our 10-Day Mariamman Prayers – The Sacred Fulfilment - 27 July 2025
Yesterday marked the grand culmination of our 10-day spiritual journey — the Main Amman Prayer. A day that brought together hearts, families, generations, and pure devotion under one divine roof.
From the early morning hours, the temple grounds were alive with sacred energy. The aroma of incense and offerings, the rhythm of drums and bhajans, the vibrant colours of sarees and garlands — every element reflected the deep love our community holds for Mariamman.
Our day began with the special Haven (fire prayer) — flames rising toward the heavens, carrying with them our prayers, hopes, and gratitude. Devotees poured their hearts into every offering, knowing that our Divine Mother was with us, watching, blessing, and embracing each one of us in her sacred light.
The gharghums were beautifully decorated, each one glowing with colour and purpose. They were faithfully carried by devotees, as were the sacred firepots, in a powerful act of faith, surrender, and devotion. These symbols of offering were carried not just on shoulders, but in hearts overflowing with love and belief.
As the prayers reached their peak, we witnessed something truly special — devotees pouring their hearts out, calling out to Mariamman with raw emotion. Some wept, some sang, others sat in silent prayer. The temple became a space of deep healing, divine presence, and spiritual fulfilment.
We also witnessed the power of community service today. The temple grounds were filled with volunteers serving meals, elders being cared for, children laughing, and everyone participating in the sacred rituals. It reminded us that our seva (service) is also a form of worship.
Adding to this warmth was the delicious porridge, cabbage, roti, pumkin and mixed curry, lovingly prepared by our kitchen team. Not to forget the delious Kanji. It was served with joy and shared by devotees and community members alike — a simple but meaningful reminder that food, like faith, is best when it brings people together.
To every devotee who walked this journey with us over the past ten days — thank you. Your faith, your energy, and your love built something truly divine.
To our volunteers, cooks, singers, members and Guru Seelan— you have each been a thread in this sacred tapestry. You served not just with your hands, but with your hearts.
To those who carried the gharghums and firepots, your strength and belief lit the way for all of us.
To our younger generation, thank you for walking beside us and carrying our traditions forward.
To our kitchen team — thank you for feeding both body and soul.
