And, when the times are darkest, they shall lead forth a host of pilgrim spirits, numberless as the sand on the seashore; or as the stardust, lying thick through the illimitable expanse of space." This quote is truly inspiring to those involved in missions. It made me think of the recent good reports of my friend and faithful laborers in the gospel, Douglas Hammett, who has shared some great blessings, as he goes seeking these kind of men, not in the biggest churches and most renowned seminaries in America, but in the far corners of places like Botswana, Zambia, Malawi and South Africa.

The fact is God uses those who hear and respond in obedience to His Word! Regardless of their "pedigree" before hand.

It is the Scriptures that are the authoritative Word of God! Inspired by God and profitable for all that we need.

Before we can come to God, be must believe that He is... we must first know of Him, we must look to His Word, His revelation of Himself and believe that He is exactly who He has revealed Himself to be.

As we seek to have a relationship to God, and we know that we will one day be judged by God according to truth, we must then base our relationship entirely on the TRUTH of God's Word, the Bible!

And even so, while you are feeble and fighting and trembling, in faith in the hidden work of God’s Spirit do not fear, but yield yourself.” A, Murray

Murray was writing here of Christ's time in Gethsemane, The outward appearance of our faith is not what is important, the inward, promised working of the Spirit, is.

If you do not know what God has said in His word, than you cannot really believe God. We must be students of the Word!

Believer, know and understand your weakness, but do not fear or be dismayed by it, God works mightily even in our weakness.

This is why faith begins with the Scriptures, we most have knowledge of what we are to believe, then we must believe it to be true, and then we must commit ourselves to it in trust, this is Biblical faith.

A sobering thought that should cause us to consider our every thought and action, and our preparation for eternity. You and I will both stand before God someday, are we ready?
