TOP 10 LESSONS FROM THE BOOK ''THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI''

1.RESPECT YOUR TIME : The only way to experience more is to push yourself to do more. Because only 20% of your time, dedicated to the day-to-day activities, yield lasting results that could influence the quality of your life. You have to have the courage to say “no”.

Start small. By showing how much you value your time, others will learn to recognize it and as a consequence, respect you for it.

2. FIND OUT THE PURPOSE OF LIFE : Imagine discovering a map that leads you directly to a treasure chest. That’s how exciting it would be when you discover your life’s purpose. So here are action steps from the Sages of Sivana to ensure your goal is as attainable as you believe it to be:

3. DO THE THINGS YOU FEAR MOST : Do the things you fear, because you’re building the foundation of success and leadership within yourself. Leading yourself first gives others the vote of confidence that you’re capable of leading them too.The lesson from the monk is that success on the outside begins within. When you identify the things that are holding you back, you should face them. So act with the integrity and be guided by your heart.

4. ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS OF LIFE : You don’t need too many material possessions for you to enjoy life. In the book, talks about Julian Mantle, a successful lawyer who sold his material possessions when he discovered that he could enjoy life by meditating on the beauty of the little things of life such as a spider’s web and flowers. For achieving the success we don,t care about the little things , that provide us happiness. Person just focus on big achievement , not small . If person cant enjoy on little things, he will also not enjoy when he achieve the big.

5. LIVE WITH DISCIPLINE : We’re all the more tempted and distracted today by the noises our devices make and the people we interact with on a daily basis. It takes courage to nurture self-discipline because it’s not easy. But once you give yourself the power to be more than your environment, you’ll ultimately win and unshackle yourself from a mental prison.

6. CULTIVATE YOUR MIND : The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your thoughts.Ironically, under the grand laws of nature, our mind can only hold one thought at a time. By making negative thoughts your focus, you’ll embody it, or worst, manifest it. This mentality will only hinder your personal growth.Mastering your mind means seeing setbacks as opportunities. By envisioning your dreams, you give your mind the power to cultivate it and make it a reality. So occupy your mind with uplifting thoughts.

7. YOUR OUTER LIFE IMPROVES IF YOU BUILD YOUR INNER WORLD : Working on factors such as discipline and optimism enables you to achieve whatever you want. Besides this, building your inner world through the cultivation of faith, a strong spirit, and self-mastery makes you unstoppable in your outer world. That being said, you must focus on building a strong character because doing so will enable you to easily succeed in your outer world. Always listen good things, watch good stuff , spend your time with good person.

8. PRACTICE DAILY ACT OF KINDNESS : Expressing gratitude daily plants the seed within yourself that each day is sacred. The richer the relationship you build around you, the more abundance comes your way. Giving more to life and to your community is a paradigm-shifting perspective from the “self” mentality of survival of the fittest.Practicing gratitude and dedicating time to the act of giving, can help you find your purpose in the world.

9. WRITING DOWN YOUR GOAL : The art of goal setting doesn’t make sense to everyone and for good reason. when we write our goals down and then constantly look at them, we subconsciously tell our brain to red flag any thought that comes into our mind, which relates to one of our goals.Goals allow your mind to place an importance indicator on every thought you have, from important to least important.Goals are really just focusing your thoughts on the things you want and discarding everything else — groundbreaking!

10. EMBRACE THE PRESENT : We are all here for some special reason. Stop being a prisoner of your past. Become the architect of your future. We live in a fast-paced world, where we all wear the busy badge. However, it’s important to live like a child and embrace the joys of the moment. While you have dreams and ambitions, celebrate the journey that will take you there. Love the tiny successes and the failures along the way. Practice gratitude and stop putting off your happiness for the sake of achievement.

The TOMATOES' Lesson

A teacher once asked her students to bring some tomatoes in a plastic bag to school.
Each tomato was to be given the name of a person whom that child hates.
So, the number of tomatoes would be equal to the number of persons they hate.

On the pre-determined day, all the children brought their tomatoes well addressed.
Some had two, some had three and some had five, some even had 20 tomatoes in accordance with the number of people they hated.

The teacher then told them they had to carry the tomatoes with them everywhere they go for two weeks.
As the days passed the children started to complain about the decay and smell of the tomatoes
The students who had many tomatoes complained it was very heavy to carry and the smell was too much.
After a week, the teacher asked the students “How did you feel this week?”
The children complained of the awful smell and heavy weight of the tomatoes, especially those who carried several tomatoes.

The teacher said, “This is very similar to what you carry in your heart when you don’t like some people.
Hatred makes the heart unhealthy and you carry that hatred everywhere.
If you can’t bear the smell of spoilt tomatoes for a week, imagine the impact of bitterness on your heart as you carry it daily.”
The heart is a beautiful garden that needs regular cleaning of unwanted weeds.

Forgive those who have angered you.
This makes room for storing good things.
Get Better, Not Bitter!!!

'The Poor Coward!'

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a poor farmer named Ram. Ram was known to be a coward and would often run away from difficult situations. One day, a group of bandits attacked the village and started looting the houses. Everyone in the village was scared and didn't know what to do. They looked around for Ram, hoping he could help them.

As expected, Ram was nowhere to be found. He had hidden himself in his house, hoping the bandits would leave soon. However, something within him stirred. He realized that he could not just sit and watch as his fellow villagers were being robbed. He had to do something.

Taking a deep breath, Ram stepped out of his house. He had never felt so scared in his life. But, he knew he had to be brave for his fellow villagers. He picked up a stick and started running towards the bandits. As he got closer, the bandits noticed him and started running towards him.

Ram stood his ground and started swinging the stick. To his surprise, the bandits started running away from him. They thought he was some sort of warrior and didn't want to mess with him.

The villagers were surprised to see Ram standing up to the bandits. They had never seen him act so bravely before. From that day on, Ram became the hero of the village. He realized that being brave was not about being fearless but about standing up to your fears and doing what is right.

The moral of the story is that one should never underestimate themselves. Even if you feel scared or unsure of yourself, you can always find the courage to do what is right. You just need to believe in yourself and take the first step towards bravery.

Short story: 🍎An Apple Tree and Its Unconditional Love

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the treetop, ate the apples, and took a nap under the shadow.

He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by, the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree every day.

One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad.
“Come and play with me”, the tree asked the boy.

“I am no longer a kid, I do not play around trees any more” the boy replied.

“I want toys. I need money to buy them.”

“Sorry, but I do not have money, but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money.”

The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad.

One day, the boy who now turned into a man returned and the tree was excited.

“Come and play with me” the tree said.

“I do not have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?”

“Sorry, but I do not have any house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house.” So the man cut all the branches of the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the man never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the man returned and the tree was delighted.

“Come and play with me!” the tree said.

“I am getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?” said the man.

“Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy.”

So the man cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.

Finally, the man returned after many years. “Sorry, my boy. But I do not have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you”, the tree said. “No problem, I do not have any teeth to bite” the
man replied.

“No more trunk for you to climb on.” “I am too old for that now” the man said. “I really cannot give you anything, the only thing left is my dying roots,” the tree said with tears.

“I do not need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years,” the man replied.

“Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on and rest, come sit down with me and rest.” The man sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears.

This is a story of everyone. The tree is like our parents. When we were young, we loved to play with our Mum and Dad. When we grow up, we leave them; only come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could just to make you happy.

You may think the boy is cruel to the tree, but that is how all of us treat our parents. We take them for granted; we don’t appreciate all they do for us, until it’s too late.

The moral of the story is that parents, like the apple tree, love their children unconditionally and are always there to provide for them. However, as we grow up, we tend to take our parents for granted and only come to them when we need something. We should learn to appreciate our parents and all that they do for us before it's too late. We should cherish the time we have with them and show them love and respect, just as they have shown us throughout our lives.

A Great Analogy

You’re holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere.

Why did you spill the coffee?

“Because someone bumped into me!!”

Wrong answer.

You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.

Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea.

Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.

Therefore when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out.

It’s easy to fake it, until you get rattled.

So we have to ask ourselves ... “What’s in my cup?” When life gets tough, what spills over?

Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility?

Anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions?

Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it.

Today let’s work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation and kindness, gentleness and love for others.

THE BENEFITS OF REJECTION

1. It teaches you that not everyone is meant to understand you and it is OK

2. It teaches you to value the people who actually do understand you and accept you

3. It teaches you not to derive your worth from people. People are not your God. Humans rejecting you doesn't mean you are worthless

4. It teaches you to explain yourself and relate better. Sometimes we get rejected because of how we present ourselves or communicate

5. It humbles you. Getting your way each time can make you puffed up with pride and become entitled

6. It teaches you to improve on yourself. Sometimes you are rejected because you are not ready

7. It prepares you for something or someone better than you expected. Some doors have to be closed for better ones to be opened

8. It teaches you to love yourself more than you expect others to love you. The worst form of rejection is rejecting self

9. It forces you to close a season that you have grown too comfortable in. Some people struggle to move on to their next season in life until rejection forces them to
