ANNOUNCEMENTS DAVEYTON PARISHES 6TH September 2026

1. Build a Church Team sends their gratitude for your generous contributions to the Mokolokotoane which was held last month at St Nicholas.
2. On the 1st of September, we celebrated the launch of Season of Creation ‘26 at St Nicholas Parish.�The Season will end on 4th October. We encourage each parish PPC, Liturgy Commission and Justice and Peace to meet and plan for the parish Season of Creation event project and notify the clergy.
3. On 12th September 2026, at Wits University Great Hall, we will have an Archdiocese Liturgy Symposium. Please register using the link available. For assistance, please speak to the PPC or Liturgy Commission Chairperson. The registration fee is R100 per person. We encourage all and the PPC, PFC, Liturgy Commission, Sodalities, St Cecilia and Choir Leaders, and Youth and Young Adults to attend.
4. We are reminded that, again, on the 13th September, the Build a Church Team project will be serving a sumptuous Spring Day fundraising breakfast for R120 at St Nicholas. Mass is at 07:30, then breakfast. Those that already booked the breakfast ticket are requested to please make the outstanding payment to Mme Nomvula, Mme Mapitso or Mme Morare. Others interested, please enquire if seating is still available from the abovementioned ladies.
5. On the 18th and the 19th September 2026, 08:00-16:00, the PPCs, PFCs and Parishes Youth Forums are invited to participate in the closing event of the Diocesan phase on the Synod on Synodality. The cost is R100 per day, which will cover the costs of the event. The deadline for closing registration is on the 14th September 2026. The registration link is on the poster. Please enquire with the PPC for further info.
6. Infant and children's Baptism registration for those less than a year to 6 years old has started in all parishes. Parents, please meet the PPC and/or Catechists for information. The parents will also have to meet with the Parish Priest. Classes start on 4th October and the Baptism will be on the 21st November - Saturday
7. We are reminded that every Thursday at 16:00, we have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at both St. Nicholas and St. Lambert. We encourage all to come and spend an hour of prayer, reflection, meditation and contemplation in the presence of the Eucharist.
8. Youth and all are invited to the Interparish Netball tournament on the 26th September at 08:30, organised by Blessed Sacrament Parish Life Teen Team. Venue is Assumption Convent School, Malvern. The 13-to 18-year-old team of ten (10) players costs R500 (i.e. R50.00 per person. The 19 to 30 year old team of 10 costs R700.00 (i.e. R70.00 per person). See Poster for bookings. Registration closes on the 12th September 2026.
9. Children's Mass that was due on the 6th September was postponed. A new date will be communicated.
10. Proclaimers workshop planned for St Martin will be put on hold due to the Archdiocese Liturgy Conference on the same date. New date for the proclaimers' workshop will be announced.

ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR DAVEYTON PARISHES 30TH AUGUST 2026

1. We thank all those who attended the Deanery Eucharistic Revival at Kristo Nkosi Parish - Kwa Thema yesterday.
2. We thank all those who attended the Archdiocesan Marriage Anniversary Mass yesterday at the Cathedral of Christ the King in JHB.
3. We also thank those who attended the Evangelization Representatives meeting at the Archdiocese JHB.
4. On the 1st of September this week, Tuesday, Season of Creation'26 will be launched at St Peter Claver Pimville, Soweto. Mass will start at 9:00 and thereafter proceed to plant trees at St Peter Claver Primary School.
5. We will have a PPC, PFC and Clergy meeting on 6 September at 12:00, St Nicholas. We ask all leadership to attend.
6. On the 12th September 2026, at Wits University Great Hall, we will have an Archdiocese Liturgy Symposium. ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR DAVEYTON PARISHES 23RD AUGUST 2026

1. We thank all those who went to Little Eden Home of the physically challenged in Bapsfontein on Saturday. We also thank all for the gifts in-kind received and taken to the home.
2. We thank all the Catechists who went to the Catechists Day of formation and creativity on Saturday, at the Cathedral.
3. This Saturday, the 29th August from 08:30 - 12:30, we will have our Far East Deanery Eucharistic Revival- Day of Recollection at Kristo Nkosi, KwaThema. We are all encouraged to attend.
4. The Young Adults and Youth Group will have a morning hike at Cradle Moon on Saturday, the 29th August 2026. We encourage the youth from all parishes to attend and support this initiative.
5. This Saturday the 29th August, at 09:00, at Christ the King Cathedral, we are all invited to a Marriages Anniversary Mass. Please see the poster and register online. Enquire from Family Desk Representatives
6. On the same Saturday, 29th August, we have Evangelization Reps meeting at the Cathedral Small Hall.

9. Registration for infants to be baptised has started. The classes start on the 6th September in all parishes. We request parents to go to the office for registration. They are also to meet with the priest at the time of their registration.

ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR DAVEYTON PARISHES 16TH OF AUGUST 2026

1. We thank all those who went to the Mother of Mercy Shrine in Magaliesburg yesterday, for the Archdiocese of Johannesburg Mass of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
2. The Archdiocese Department of Migrants and Refugees is pleading for humanitarian aid (financial aid or essential items) for stranded Migrants still awaiting repatriation. Please make your contributions to PPC/PFC. We thank all those who have made donations.
3. On the 22nd of August, next week Saturday, is the Hyams Cause Deanery Mass at Little Eden Home for the physically disabled at Bapsfontein. We kindly encourage attendance and non-perishable donations. Please, Parish Liturgy Connission chairpersons, in collaboration with the PPC, coordinate the trip.
4. On the 22nd of August next week, Saturday, all the Altar Servers are having a Day of Recollection. Mass will be at 09:00.
5. We wish to inform the Parish community that our Young Adults and Youth Group will have an activity - a morning hike at Cradle Moon on Saturday, the 29th of August 2026. We kindly invite all Parish members and Sodalities to support this initiative through contributions towards trail snacks and a goodie bag for each participant.
6. On the 29th of August at 09:00 at Christ the King Cathedral, we are all invited to a Marriage Anniversary Mass. We are all encouraged to attend. Please see the poster in group chats and register online. Family Desk Representatives are also available to assist with any clarity that may be needed.

4. On Sunday it was Safeguarding Sunday. Parish Safeguarding representatives gave more on the importance and requirements of Safeguarding of our Children.
