Mark of the Beast!?

Rev 13:11 Then I saw another wild animal; this one emerged out of the earth - it had two horns and resembled a young lamb; yet it had a dragon’s voice. (The counterfeit “trinity” emerges - the one mirroring the other - the dragon Accuser, the seven headed sea-monster of religion with its leading role player, the head that was slain but became alive again and now the dragon clothed in a lamb’s-disguise)

Rev 13:12 Even though it had the appearance of the lamb, it operated under the same authority as the previous beast - under the watchful eye of the Dragon! [Counterfeit-Christianity as a religion is a wolf in sheep’s clothing!] It’s the same old dragon in a lamb’s disguise! It’s mission was to engage the 1earthbound dwellers to worship the counterfeit - the slaughtered animal that was restored to life out of its death. (The historic relevance of the death and resurrection of the Lamb is in the revelation of humanity’s co-inclusion - Jesus died our death and went into our hell and we were co-quickened in his resurrection and are co-seated together with him in heavenly places!

Again John employs the word 1katoikeō from kata, down and oikeo, to dwell or set up home - thus to be earthbound. See Rev 13:8.

Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false Prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” In his sight - enōpion autou. In the eye of the first beast who gets his authority from the dragon - See Rev 13:3)

Rev 13:13 It had the power to mesmerise the masses with apparent great signs - even fire falling out of the sky. (1 Cor 1:22 The Jews crave signs [to confirm their doubts] while the Greeks revel in philosophical debate! [Both groups are addicted to the same soul realm.] The supernatural is not proof of faith - Israel witnessed the supernatural for 40 years, day and night but an entire generation died in unbelief, failing to possess the promise, by believing a lie about themselves! See Num 13:33 and Joshua 2:11.)

Rev 13:14 Deceiving the earth-dwellers, dazzling them with signs, whilst operating like a puppet on a string under the watchful eye of the Beast. The instruction was for the earth-dwellers to make an 1idol-image of the “lamb” who was slain with a 1knife and then revived again! (The word 1eikon means image or likeness - this is the theme of the Bible and redemption; the image and likeness of God revealed and redeemed in human form! Idolatry is a projection of an image of man’s own making. Idolatry is the crux of religion - it is expensive business since your idol is like a slot machine at the casino! It remains hungry and it is wired to bite and bankrupt you! The word, machaira is used for a large knife, used for killing animals typically in the slaying of a sacrifice. Religion has a life of its own - the idea was that since the dragon has lost its accusation claim against the human race in the heavenlies, [see Rev 12:8,9,10] it now had to find a pseudo, make-belief future existence in the icons of man’s imagination.)

Rev 13:15 This lamb-like beast [resembling the typical Christian religion] gave its man-made mirror image breath and a voice to speak and threaten to kill all who would not worship the image.

Rev 13:16 Its mission was to mirror-imprint its character upon everyone’s hands and minds in order to manipulate what they think and do. (So what is the mark of the beast all about? The Greek word translated mark, χαρακτηρ charakter from χάραγμα charagma - to engrave. Either the character of the Father or the character of the fallen mind will influence our actions [hand] because it is what engages our thoughts [forehead]. Just like in Hebrew 1:1-3, the son radiates the character of the Father. Either the character of the Father or the character of the fallen mind will influence our actions (hand) because it is what engages our thoughts (forehead). As in Isaiah 55:8-11 where God says, “Your thoughts are not my thoughts; therefore your ways are not my ways. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.....but my word will incarnate, and saturate earth (flesh) just like the rain and the snow cancel the distance between heaven and earth! Instead of the thorn, the fir and instead of the brier, the myrtle! This explains the first part of Isa 55 - Ho! Everyone who is thirsty - disappointed in their own efforts to buy that which cannot be purchased with the currency of their own achievement; desperate to escape the sense of unworthiness, lack and condemnation; paying any price in the hope to become [what they in reality already are by design!] This is the basis of the mindset of the “I-am-not tree-system!” Isa 55:1 Your thirst drives you to the waters but you have no money; I urge you to buy without your currency and drink priceless wine and eat the finest wheat [ἄνευ ἀργυρίου καὶ τιμῆς [perceived value] οἴνου καὶ στέαρ - Ps 147:3 - LXX Septuagint, He satisfies you with the finest of the wheat.] Your painful and wearisome labor adds no value to your life! Hear me! Incline your ears! I want to honor and indulge you with that which truly satisfies! This is the bread your soul craves; this is your true sustenance!

Adam Clarke comments, “Why should ye be so zealously attached to a doctrine from which your souls derive neither comfort nor nourishment?”)

Rev 13:17 The intent was clear: to control the world markets by manipulating people’s minds and behavior with the idea of the original sin, “I-am-not defined by my being; I’m defined by my doing;” therefore “I need to achieve this and buy that to define me!” Failure- and sin-consciousness would be the currency of the entire religious industry! No one could buy or sell without being defined by the character, name and number-code [password] of their idol, the beast - the make-belief slain and raised to life Lamb with the dragon’s voice! (The entire industry of religion was based on the currency of sin-consciousness. The business of accusation [Satanos] flourishes in an environment of sin-consciousness. See John 2:13 Jesus then went up to Jerusalem in time for the Jewish Passover. John 2:14 When Jesus went into the temple he was shocked to find scores of traders selling their sacrificial items, cattle, sheep and doves. Even their money brokers were comfortably set up in the sanctuary. (The business of sin-consciousness has taken over the mindset of religion - until Jesus arrives.) John 2:15 Then with a whip that he plaited of small strands, he drove everyone with their sheep and oxen out of the temple and overturned the tables of the money brokers so that their money went flying all over the place. (Jesus dramatically reveals that his Father has no delight in our religious sacrificial systems and its sin-conscious currencies. The word σχοῖνος - schoinos, from skenos, tabernacle or skin - leather thongs - this is a profound prophetic picture of his own broken skin that would become the whip to drive out sin-consciousness from our minds - the ultimate cleansing of the Temple - the sanctuary of God within us! 1 Peter 1:18,19.) John 2:16 He also drove the dove traders out with, “How dare you turn my Father’s house into a shopping mall?”)

Rev 13:18 This riddle demands solving! Now put your mind to it, here is the clue: calculate the number of the beast and see how it points directly to the number of humanity - it is a trinity of sixes! (Man-made religion. The numerical value of anthropos in Chaldean Numerology is 6 - The word for the human species, male or female is anthropos, from ana, upwards, and tropos, manner of life; character; in like manner. See John 1:51

In the context of Easter - How does your present format of belief rate? What percentage of the billions of people who already lived and died on the planet are we prepared to condemn to everlasting torment? Was Adam's fall more successful than the cross? Consider the gospel you live and believe in the light of Rom 5:10-21; 2 Cor 5:14-21 (in any translation of your choice)
Make the calculation, what would give Jesus the greater glory? An empty heaven and a full hell? Or an empty hell and a full heaven?!!! Revelation 5:13 Then I heard every creature in Heaven and earth, in the underworld and sea, join in, all voices in all places, singing: To the One on the Throne! To the Lamb! The blessing, the honor, the glory, the strength! For age after age after age. ❤️

The concept of "missing the mark" is central to understanding the original view and not as a list of infractions against a distant lawgiver, but as a failure to live in accordance with our true identity as children of a loving Father.

The original languages of Scripture make this beautifully and logically clear.

The primary Hebrew and Greek words translated as "sin" do not carry the primary meaning of "breaking a rule," but rather of failing to hit a target or reach a destination. The "mark" or "target," in the logic of the Gospel, is the reality of our union with God in Christ.

The Greek Anchor: Hamartia (ἁμαρτία)
As we fall under the New Covenant and nolonger under the law of the Old Testament, this concept is in the New Testament with the Greek word hamartia and its verb form, hamartano. It also means "to miss the mark."

The Apostle Paul uses this term with profound theological insight.

Anchor Scripture: Romans 3:23
"for all have missed the mark and fall short of the glory of God,"

Analysis and Context:
It means "all have missed the mark." The verse then defines the mark they have missed: "the glory of God."

What is this "glory" (doxa in Greek)?
It is not a standard of moral perfection that we fail to achieve.

In the New Testament, the glory of God is perfectly and fully revealed in a person: Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:3).

Therefore, to "miss the mark" and "fall short of the glory of God" is to live from any identity other than the one we have in union with Jesus.

It is to see ourselves wrongfully as orphans, when the Father sees us as sons. It is to live according to the flesh (the independent, self-driven life) rather than according to the Spirit (the life lived in conscious dependence on our union with Christ).

One Core Insight:
The Mark is Your True Identity
The will of the Father is not a tightrope of behaviors you must perfectly balance on to avoid falling.

His will is for you to know and believe in the one He sent (John 6:29), which is to say, to accept your inclusion in the life of His Son. The "mark" is the reality of your sonship.

Therefore, "to miss the mark" is any thought, word, or action that originates from the lie of separation from Christ.

It is to believe you are outside the Father's embrace, that you are on your own, OR that you must perform to earn His love.

Practical Examples Applicable Today:
The Performance Trap:
You spend your week striving in your own strength, working exhaustively, trying to be a perfect parent, serving at church, all with an underlying anxiety that you aren't doing enough to please God.

Missing the Mark:
You have missed the target of rest. You are operating from the belief that your effort secures your standing, rather than resting in the finished work of Christ.

Your aim is self-justification, not the reality of your justification in Him.

The Cycle of Self-Condemnation:
You make a mistake, lose your temper with your spouse, for instance and immediately feel a wave of shame. You tell yourself, "I'm a terrible Christian. God must be so disappointed in me." You withdraw emotionally, trying to punish yourself.

Missing the Mark:
You have missed the target of your righteousness in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). Your focus is on your failure, which is an expression of unbelief in the Father's unchanging delight in you.

You are aiming at a standard of personal perfection instead of the reality of Christ's perfection on your behalf.

The Lens of Judgment:
You see a neighbor or coworker living a life you deem immoral, and you feel a sense of superiority or harsh judgment. You think about what's wrong with them and how they need to change.

Missing the Mark:
You have missed the target of love. You are eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, which produces judgment, instead of the Tree of Life, which is your union with the Father.

You have forgotten that His kindness is what leads to repentance, and your assignment is only to reflect His unconditional love.

In each case, the solution is not to "try harder" to hit the mark.

The solution is to see the mark more clearly. It is to behold Jesus, to rest in His finished work, and to allow the Holy Spirit to remind you of who you truly are.

When you know you are already at the center of the target, seated with Christ in the Father's love, your life begins to align with that reality effortlessly.

Galatians 3

1 Oh, Galatians, Galatians! Have you completely lost your common sense? Can’t you see how the law bewitched you and blurred your vision to distort the revelation of what the cross of Christ accomplished in you? This was so clearly predicted in Scripture. How can you not be persuaded by the truth?

22 The Scriptures conclude that, in the context of the law of performance, ¹all of mankind, without exception, are in the same predicament; they are ²trapped in ³sin; out of sync with the life of their design, and without any hope to free themselves. But now, ⁴the Promise of their escape into the freedom of sonship, is ⁵sourced and unveiled in the faith of Jesus Christ. He is the prophetic, Incarnate-Promise; the embodiment of God’s belief. This unveiling ushers in a brand-new day! Just like one awakens from a deep sleep, everyone may now wake up to the discovery of what God has believed about them all along! From faith [source] to faith [recipient]. Faith is not something we do; it is ⁶what inevitably happens within us, in our realizing what God has always believed about us; and that Jesus has now redeemed and ⁷restored us to that which already belonged to us by design!

23 In the prophetic context of the arrival of faith's conclusion; the time before ¹the originator and owner of this faith ²was to physically arrive on the planet in human form [the incarnation of the Promise] ; we continued to be confined to our futile efforts to keep the law; held in ⁴custody to its constraining influence. Yet, ⁵throughout that time, we were eagerly anticipating ⁶the day of the revelation of ⁷Faith, to come to our rescue.

28 So, ¹the fact is, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, bond or free, male or female – [gay or straight; left or right; black or white]. ²Every single person on the planet is equally defined in Christ Jesus – in him, all are one!

([1] The words, ouk eni means ‘there is not’ – as a statement of a fact rather than a possibility – it is not a shortened form of enesti, but the old lengthened form of en with recessive accent. [Robertson]

[2] This statement is powerfully endorsed in Paul's 'Metanoia-moment':

2 Corinthians 5:14-17 https://mirror.bible/ #/bible/2cor/5/14-17➚ The love of Christ resonates within us and leaves us with only one conclusion: Jesus died mankind’s death; therefore, in God’s logic every individual simultaneously died.

2 Corinthians 5:15 https://mirror.bible/ #/bible/2cor/5/15➚ Now if all were included in his death they were equally included in his resurrection. This unveiling of his love redefines human life. Whatever reference we could have of ourselves outside of our association with Christ is no longer relevant.

2 Corinthians 5:16 https://mirror.bible/ #/bible/2cor/5/16➚ Therefore, from now on, I no longer know anyone according to the flesh. I no longer see people from a human point of view. This is a radical and most defining moment. No label that could possibly previously identify someone carries any further significance. Even our pet-doctrines of Christ are redefined. Whatever we knew about him historically or sentimentally is challenged by this conclusion.

2 Corinthians 5:17 https://mirror.bible/ #/bible/2cor/5/17➚ Now, in the light of your co-inclusion in his death and resurrection, whoever you thought you were before, in Christ you are a brand new person. The old ways of seeing yourself and everyone else are over. Acquaint yourself with the new.

Galatians 3:28 https://mirror.bible/ #/bible/gal/3/28➚ In Him the distinctions between Jew and Gentile, slave and free, male and female, disappear; you are all one in Christ Jesus. Weymouth Translation)

29 Since Christ is the seed of Promise, it is only in our realizing our union with him [in the incarnation] that we are equally related to Abraham and heirs of the Promise. Faith and not flesh relates us to Abraham.

(Vincent writes, Physical relationship with Abraham is of no significance in the economy of salvation. The apostle "discovers the basis of Christian universalism in the very life of him in whose person theocratic particularism was founded. He has demonstrated the existence of a time when he represented Gentilism, or, to speak more properly, mankind in general; and it was during this period, when he was not yet a Jew, but simply a man, that he received salvation” [Godet]

The Mirror Bible - knowing your true origin in God

Loving people is really what the gospel is all about and yet it often seems so far down on our lists of what really matters in our daily "todays"!

James 3:9 We can say beautiful things about God the Father but with the same mouth curse a man made in his mirror likeness.
(True worship is to touch someone’s life with the same devotion and care you would touch Jesus himself; even if the other person seems a most unlikely candidate.)

Its when we see what Peter saw when God dramatically challenged his paradigms in Acts 10;
I mean the man's hungry, and when a Jew gets hungry he's supposed to see favorite food pop-ups!
But instead God shows him every unclean animal alive in their skins, feathers, warts and scales!
Not neatly chopped up into a "Gumbo" or stew, and flavored with favorite spices!
Alive, dirty and ugly!
And three times later, after Peter tried his best take on a favorite scripture (Don't eat anything unclean, remember!) God shows him in v 28 that he may no longer call anyone unclean or unholy!!
Haha! we've so underestimated what God did when Jesus died humanity's death!
Behold the Lamb OF GOD who takes away the sin of the world!
He did it once and for all long before anyone but God believed it!
And without our permission! Haha!
I love the good of the good news!
(Can only be news if its news! We're not talking good intentions or even good predictions here!)

So sad that the fear of so called 'universalism' has caused such division that the compromise became the standard again... as long as we say, yes, but you've got to believe it! 🤔
The point is, if people encounter the love of God unveiled in the revelation of what really happened when Jesus died humanity's death, and what it is that God believes, then faith happens! 🤩
People don't need to be told to believe if they know that they are loved! 😍
God loves this world relentlessly and unconditionally! ❤️🥰😁
