[BPHG Stands Against the Brutal Killing of Women]

We call the Church to stand together in prayer for every woman affected by violence and abuse.

May God bring protection, healing and justice, and may every woman know that her life, dignity and safety matter.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

[Sunday Sermon Recap]

We continued with our new sermon series, “Misdirected Efforts,” reading from Micah 5:12:

“I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells. I will destroy your idols and your sacred stones from among you; you will no longer bow down to the work of your hands. I will uproot from among you your Asherah poles when I demolish your cities.”

The series is intended to help us stop doing things that take us backwards into positions of setback and suffering. Examples include the loss of time, dignity and money.
Misdirected efforts can cause us to lose time, dignity and money. When our efforts are directed towards the wrong things, we can find ourselves returning to the same suffering that God wants to deliver us from. Misdirected efforts can make us look foolish, which is why we need the Spirit of God to help and guide us.

God desires for us to regain our dignity in the Lord. He will set us free, and we will not lose our dignity. From a time perspective, misdirected efforts can cause us to lose track of our progress and waste valuable time chasing things that have no value. There are altars standing against the gifts of people, causing delays and wasting time. Some of the challenges we experience have been brought by the enemy to derail us from where God wants us to go.

From a financial perspective, misdirected efforts can also cause us to lose money. Money that should have been saved can be spent on things that do not add value. We can create unnecessary dependencies around our finances and find ourselves buying things that we do not even need.
Misdirected efforts can be influenced by demons, ignorance and misfortunes.

Apostle reminded us that no one enjoys suffering. Even though Luke 10:19 tells us that the Lord has given us authority and power, we are not saved to remain in cycles of suffering, setbacks and wasted effort. We are saved to do great exploits, to build and to thrive.

[Sunday Service Recap]

The End of Misdirected Efforts

In 1 Kings 18:16–24, Elijah was labelled a troublemaker, not only a prophet, because he challenged the misdirected efforts of the people. Elijah knew his God and understood the power available to him. The power of God must be seen working in our lives. We cannot depend on man-made fire, we need the fire that comes from heaven.

The prophets of Baal called from morning until noon. They shouted, sang and danced, yet there was no answer. Their efforts were intense, but misdirected. When we desperately need answers, we must go to the extreme for God and pursue the place where there is true power.

Misdirected efforts cause us to waste what God has placed in our hands. Do not waste what you have, call on God. We serve a living God who answers by fire and demonstrates His power against anything that comes to steal our peace.

What you consume is what you will eventually produce. If you consume power, you will demonstrate power. It is time to consume the power of God and allow His power to become evident in our lives.

The power of God will help us regain our dignity and take over territories. We must walk in wisdom, separate ourselves from what is not working, and remain connected to the God who answers by fire.

This is a season where every misdirected effort must come to an end. Everything that is not bearing fruit must end. The power of God must bring an end to the things consuming our time, energy and resources without producing results.

No more misdirected efforts. It is time to know our God, consume His power, walk in His power and see His power demonstrated in our lives.
