[Sunday Sermon Recap]
The Overcoming Grace of God
This morning, we were reminded that the overcoming grace of God is upon us.
Drawing from Hebrews 4:14-16, we learned that there is a throne of grace where believers can boldly come before God to obtain mercy and find grace in times of need. Grace is our covering. We do not cover our lives with our talents, abilities, qualifications, or achievements, but with the grace of God. When grace is upon a person, it accomplishes what human effort alone cannot achieve.
We were encouraged to become desperate for God’s grace and continually seek it through prayer. The Lord desires His children to approach Him with confidence and ask for more grace.
From Revelation 4:5, we were reminded that grace is available to those who make themselves available to God and pursue Him wholeheartedly. Grace is precious and should never be taken for granted because it was not obtained cheaply. It is a gift that must be treasured and protected.
Where grace is present, miracles, signs, and wonders follow. Grace searches for those who are weak, discouraged, or have fallen in their faith, restoring and strengthening them for God’s purposes. Grace is looking for willing vessels to partner with God in advancing His Kingdom.
Grace is a spirit that brings revelation, understanding, and divine insight. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, God declares that His grace is sufficient and that His strength is made perfect in weakness.
Through Christ, we have been called and saved according to God’s purpose and grace, as written in 2 Timothy 1:9.
No problem is greater than the grace of God upon our lives. Whatever challenge we may be facing today is small in comparison to the abundant grace that God has made available to us. We were encouraged to continually pray, “Lord, pour more of Your grace upon me,” trusting that His overcoming grace will sustain, strengthen, and lead us into victory.
Grace is for those who are available to receive from God ….. to be continued
