WE SAY NO TO XENOPHOBIA AND AFROPHOBIA IN SOUTH AFRICA.
Standing with a close friend and brother with my loved ones and fellow church members encouraging and comforting a brother whose business was looted as a result of XENOPHOBIA and AFROPHOBIA in RUSTENBURG in 2018.
While at it comes a mob, unknown to us and started questioning one of us, on the same hands beating, throwing stones and clubs on him. Consequently, the meeting amongst us and fellow church members came to an end as there were confusion and noise from every end.
Few hours after we dispersed, we heard the most saddest, unbelievable unexpected news, the gruesome murder of our beloved brother and friend (EBUKA).
He was necklaced and burnt in Rustenburg CBD, only to found afterwards that the mob had killed a wrong person. That's how we lost our brother leaving behind his South African wife and young children.
It's the responsibility of the government, I think, to enforce laws and not masses taken laws into their hands. Until today, Africans are still being mobbed, harassed, intimidated and murdered in South Africa just for being an African in Africa.
It's deeply saddening, I observe how some sub-ethnic national in South Africa were threatening Africans and I ask: Where were they when Africa was gunning for South African freedom from the white minority leadership? They should have use the same energy and free South Africa without calling for help from Africa and beyond. "When the chips are down"...
We pray for the repose of the Soul and most especially my dear friend and brother (EBUKA) and others who had been murdered in this senseless, unnecessary, undemocratic and uncivilised manners to find eternal rest in Christ Jesus our Lord and for peace, love, selflessness, justice to continue to prevail in South Africa and Africa in Jesus Christ name, Amen 🙏
