Enjoy these photos from our first night celebration at — a grand Purim carnival for the kids!

We had a bounce house, face painting, a caricature artist, candy floss, popcorn, slushies, ice cream, and hot dogs. Add in the stilts walker and juggler, and it was nonstop fun for everyone!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and came to hear the Megillah — celebrating the miraculous story of the Jewish people’s faith and courage.

We are excited to share details of a new learning opportunity at Gardens.

We are partnering with , an international Jewish Learning Institute of academic excellence that provides highly researched and developed courses in Jewish learning.

The inaugural six-weeks course at Gardens starts on Monday, February 2 at 6:45 pm.

The title is:

‘*JUDAISM DECODED*: The Origins and Evolution of Jewish Law and Biblical Interpretation’.

Instructor: Rabbi Mendel Goldman, Director of Jewish Education at Gardens Shul.

The cost for the six weeks course, inclusive of course textbook and materials: R770

Cost for an individual lesson: R150

In our second Bati class we learned about the first ever Jewish Woman. Our Matriarch Sarah, her life, her challenges and her courage. We decorated our very own candlesticks and taper candles. We crafted our scrapbooks meticulously with art, style and personality.

Each girl took home a magnet with the Shabbat times and packed Shabbat candles to pass along to a friend, in an effort to light up the world.

Was so special seeing the girls Friday night in Shul for a special Bati service!

We can’t wait to see everyone next Sunday!

The pictures are in! Enjoy this throwback to two weeks ago, our incredible ‘Chanukah Sunday Funday’!

Special thanks to for capturing this event and reminding us of these magical moments.

In that fateful Sunday, the first day of Chanukah, as we heard the dreadful news coming out of Sydney, we came out in numbers to show our solidarity, support and Jewish pride!
