HE CALMS THE WINDS AND THE WAVES - 8th October 2024
Mark 4
9 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “QUIET! BE STILL!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

40 He said to His disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey Him!”

THE MIGHT AND PRESENCE OF GOD - 8th October 2024
Let us ask GOD for His truth on these weather patterns.

This morning coming out from sleep a number came 1889 and I knew in my spirit that this was Psalm 18 verses 8-9.

7 The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook ; they trembled because He was angry.
8 Smoke rose from His nostrils ; consuming fire came from His mouth, burning coals blazed out of it. 9 He parted the heavens and came down ; dark clouds were under His feet.
10 He mounted the cherubim and flew ; He soared on the wings of the wind. 11 He made darkness His covering, His canopy around Him, the dark rain clouds of the sky. 12 Out of the brightness of His Presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning. 13 The LORD thundered from heaven ; the voice of the Most High resounded. 14 He shot arrows and SCATTERED the enemies, great bolts of lightning and routed them. 15 The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at Your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast from Your nostrils.

CONTEXT - GOD was angry at the pagan idol worship which was deeply rooted in the land. David was defenseless against His enemy and 16 GOD reached down on high and took hold of me, He drew me out of deep waters. 17 He rescued me from my powerful ENEMY, from my foes who were too strong for me. 18 They confronted me in my day of disaster BUT the LORD was my support.

26 You O LORD keep my lamp burning ; my GOD turns my darkness into light, 27 With YOUR HELP I can advance against a troop, with my GOD I can scale a wall,

The central theme throughout these verses is the might and power in the PRESENCE OF GOD towards His faithful ones and wrath against those who choose rebel against keeping in the ways of the LORD and do evil by turning away from Him (v21) to carry out their own wilful purpose against GOD's will.

MORAL REGENERATION OF SOCIETY.
We can change our nation one congregation or school at a time IF we uphold our mandate well.
The government is US. Pastors and school principals are only the people who bring a group of people together at any given time every week. This is the platform from which to preach, teach, rebuke, and correct society, one group at a time !

CHURCH PREACHES THE WILL OF GOD.
We cannot talk of moral degeneration of our society when we meet every week. What are we talking about if not the WILL OF GOD upon His people ? The church IS the right place to rebuke social ills and preach REPENTANCE. Preach the truth without fear. Correct immorality and preach sound doctrine.
Many people DO NOT read their Bible, and therefore do NOT even know that littering is a sin.

FEAR GOD
The earth is the footstool of GOD. If we revere Him we would do better. When He created all things He said it was good (Genesis 1) While pastors look after the spiritual man, education looks at the physical man. The mandate is the same. FEAR GOD. Correct abuse, deception, murder, sexual immorality, promiscuity, fornication and all malice from the pulpit. They won’t leave their tithes – instead they will love you for being truthful. Even if they do leave with their tithes, GOD will provide for you.

PARENTS.
The FIRST line of educators are you. Teach your children the correct ways that they will follow when they grow up. Be vigilant and careful of corrupting your own children through your parenting style. Let’s have a society of our own making, JESUS is coming for the Church.

COMMUNITY GARDENS
Pastors – know your congregation and provide for both their physical and spiritual needs. It is ironic that there are very few churches with community gardens. GOD has been saying that we should prepare for the coming famine. Are we ? Community gardens in the yard church would provide welfare to the church members and prevent the poor from going into prostitution. They would provide employment for the unemployed and education for orphans. Let us be relevant to the communities we serve.
BE THE CHANGE we want to see. The government is US.
