Everyone is striving to achieve something, and if that something does not match God's purpose for that person, then you can imagine what a great loss that will be. The Akins say' wodze kente daada efun" Meaning, they deceive the dead by beautifying it with kente dressing. But still, it does not mean anything to the dead. As ministers of the LORD, among many reminders, we are asked to run the race that is set before us and stay in our lane. We are thus called to run to reach what God has set ahead for us, and it should also be done according to God's standards. Unfortunately, the craving for fame, wealth, social status and even "posthumous" accolades, does entice some of us. Bishop Ebow recently gave a metaphor about discarding his useless pressing iron. Paul says he does not run an aimless race so did Jesus, who was focused on the joy that was set before Him. Titles and the like have crowded the platform of ministry.
Brethren, take a closer look at your body parts. Each one has a distinct function linked to its purpose. When those of us who lead do not find our purpose first, how can we make the finding and walking in God's purpose meaningful for those we lead? Ap Koach Odoom
