Signed, SEALED — and Delivered
HERMAN GIBBS
This Sunday morning, 9 November 2025, the Sea Point congregation in Marais Road witnessed a profound celebration of faith, marked by two significant acts: Holy Sealing and Communion for the Departed.
Three souls were SEALED, signifying their affirmation of faith and commitment to God.
In a landmark event for Sea Point, Apostle Robert Worship was ASSIGNED to preside over the Communion for the Departed for the first time in its 29-year history. Two dedicated ministers stood as proxies as the congregation experienced an event of profound significance in the realm of spiritual remembrance.
Communion, a core tenet of our faith, promises DELIVERANCE from sins for those who partake in it with sincerity and a pure heart. The Apostle led the worship of congregants spanning 13 countries across the New Apostolic Church Southern Africa region.
Through this intervention, hundreds of thousands around Southern Africa experienced a poignant moment that allowed all to reflect on those, known and unknown, who are no longer with us.
In moments like these, our faith in ongoing spiritual connections beyond this life is reinforced.
In a remarkable display of vocal prowess and spiritual fervour, the smallish choir delivered a stunning rendition of the revered piece, 'Holy Art Thou'. The performance, featuring 19 members—six males and 13 females—was not just a musical event; it was a powerful worship experience that resonated deeply with those present.
Their feisty rendition was so vibrant and expressive that it would have garnered a smile of approval from the legend George Frideric Handel himself.
Apostle Robert Worship, known for his eloquent and stirring address, found himself momentarily speechless, thanks to the profound impact of the performance, which married harmony with heartfelt devotion.
