In a heartwarming display of fellowship, the seniors of Crawford Congregation gathered for a special event celebrating their cherished connections with brethren from Sea Point.

This vibrant gathering not only reaffirmed existing bonds but also fostered a warm sense of community among members of the two congregations.

The day was filled with shared laughter, enriching conversations, and delightful activities, as both congregations revelled in each other's company.

The culmination of the day's activities was truly memorable, as participants enjoyed a leisurely walk along the iconic promenade, basking in the vibrant sunshine coming in over the ocean.

Signed, SEALED — and Delivered
HERMAN GIBBS
This Sunday morning, 9 November 2025, the Sea Point congregation in Marais Road witnessed a profound celebration of faith, marked by two significant acts: Holy Sealing and Communion for the Departed.

Three souls were SEALED, signifying their affirmation of faith and commitment to God.

In a landmark event for Sea Point, Apostle Robert Worship was ASSIGNED to preside over the Communion for the Departed for the first time in its 29-year history. Two dedicated ministers stood as proxies as the congregation experienced an event of profound significance in the realm of spiritual remembrance.

Communion, a core tenet of our faith, promises DELIVERANCE from sins for those who partake in it with sincerity and a pure heart. The Apostle led the worship of congregants spanning 13 countries across the New Apostolic Church Southern Africa region.

Through this intervention, hundreds of thousands around Southern Africa experienced a poignant moment that allowed all to reflect on those, known and unknown, who are no longer with us.

In moments like these, our faith in ongoing spiritual connections beyond this life is reinforced.

In a remarkable display of vocal prowess and spiritual fervour, the smallish choir delivered a stunning rendition of the revered piece, 'Holy Art Thou'. The performance, featuring 19 members—six males and 13 females—was not just a musical event; it was a powerful worship experience that resonated deeply with those present.

Their feisty rendition was so vibrant and expressive that it would have garnered a smile of approval from the legend George Frideric Handel himself.

Apostle Robert Worship, known for his eloquent and stirring address, found himself momentarily speechless, thanks to the profound impact of the performance, which married harmony with heartfelt devotion.

In Memory of Colin September...
We mourn the loss of the extraordinary organist, Colin September, whose immense talent has left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

My journey with Colin began in mid-1966 when the New Apostolic Church congregation was built in Camelia Street, Bonteheuwel. On June 29, 1966, the late District Apostle Karl R. Gut dedicated the church building, which could seat 1,300 people.

On that momentous occasion, Colin was at the organ, a role District Apostle Gut specially chose for him. It was a remarkable day, made even more historic with the installation of the renowned Hammond organ, which Colin mastered effortlessly, its grand display of pipes positioned majestically behind him.

Throughout the years, Colin not only excelled as a talented musician but also made his mark as a dedicated music teacher. He shared his passion by instructing countless students in various instruments and even served as a moderator for music examinations. His commitment to music education also led him to travel internationally, sharing his expertise with congregations.

Here in this picture, Colin is on the keyboards, leading the orchestra at Herman and Jane's wedding in the garden of the 12 Apostles Hotel in Oudekraal. Lorraine his sister, far right, is on the cello.

RIP Colin September
The remarkable organist Colin September, an immensely gifted musician, has passed on. Over the years, he occasionally played the organ in our Sea Point congregation while his sister Lorraine served as the choir mistress.
In this cherished moment, you can see Colin at the keyboards, skillfully leading the orchestra at the wedding of Herman and Jane in the garden of the 12 Apostles Hotel in Oudekraal, with Lorraine on the cello, far right.

Sea Point NAC start Thanksgiving 2025 on a clean slate...
In an inspiring display of community commitment, members of Sea Point's NAC Congregation gathered on Saturday morning to prepare for Sunday's Thanksgiving Day (October 5, 2025).

The air buzzed with energy and cooperation as congregants rolled up their sleeves to clean the church building, tend to the garden, and refurbish the upstairs hall, a cherished space used for our fellowship gatherings.

The day was not just about cleaning; it encapsulated the essence of fellowship and gratitude, with members working side by side to enhance their shared space. They transformed the church's exterior and interior into a welcoming haven for what is often a highlight in the church calendar.

Ultimately, our rector, Leslie Hickey, ensured that the hard work was acknowledged with a delicious feast of boerewors rolls, providing a fitting conclusion to a productive day.

The aroma of the grilled sausages wafted through the grounds, drawing smiles and conversations, as members enjoyed a moment of relaxation and camaraderie after their dedicated efforts.

Our doorkeeper Peter kept a LOUW profile...
ON Sunday, 14 September 2025, our district rector, Jason Smal, placed Peter Louw into retirement. He served the Sea Point congregation for many years, as an under-deacon, deacon and priest.

Moreover, he was best known as Sea Point's resident doorkeeper for a very long time. In his inimitable way, he usually welcomed everyone with his trademark greeting: 'Have a blessed service!'

Blessings in no Smal measure...
THE NAC Sea Point congregation became a hub of blessing on Sunday morning as the congregation gathered for the Divine Service officiated by our District Rector, community evangelist Jason Smal.
The service took on a particularly poignant meaning as three members were formally adopted, marking a moment of profound emotional resonance for all present. The text from Luke 6:36 read: 'Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.'
Our resident priest and choirmaster, André Prinsloo, was called up mid-service.
Afterwards, in the upstairs dining room, the newly adopted members were further welcomed with a social fellowship, encapsulating the spirit of togetherness that defines the Marais Road congregation, under the leadership of Rector Leslie Hickey.
