Who God is...

He's the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

He's the Keeper of creation and the Creator of all.

He's the Architect of the Universe and the Manager of all time.

He always was, always is and always will be Unmoved, unchanged, undefeated,

NEVER undone.

He was bruised to bring healing,

He was pierced to ease pain,

He was persecuted to bring freedom.

He died to bring life.

He rose to bring power

And He lives to bring peace!

The World can't understand Him,

Armies can't defeat Him

Schools cannot explain Him

And leaders cannot ignore Him.

The Pharisees couldn't trick Him

Herod couldn't kill Him

Nero couldn't crush Him

And the New Age cannot replace Him.

He is Love, He is Light, He is Longevity and He is the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is Goodness, He is Kindness, He is Gentleness and He is God.

He is Holy, He is Righteous, He is Mighty, He is Powerful, He is Pure.

His ways are right

His Word is eternal

His will is unchanging and

His mind is on me!

He is my Saviour, He is my Redeemer

He is my Joy, He is my Peace

He is my Guide, He is my Comfort

He is the Lord and He rules my life!

I serve Him because His bond is love

His yoke is easy and His burden is light And His goal for me is abundant

life.

I follow Him because He is the Power of the Powerful, The Wisdom of the

Wise, the Rock of Ages, the Ancient of Days The Ruler of Rulers, the Leader

of Leaders and The Sovereign Lord of all that was and all that is and all

that is to come And if you think that's impressive, hear this:

He wants a relationship with YOU.

He knows your name.

He knows how many hairs are on your head.

He has you engraved in the palm of His hands.

He will never leave you, He will never forsake you, He will never overlook

you. He will never mislead you. He will never forget you. He will never miss

a date with you.

When you fall, He'll lift you up

When you fail, He'll forgive you

When you are lost, He is the Way

When you are afraid, He is your Courage

When you are weak, He is strong.

When you are hungry, He'll feed you.

When you are blind, He'll lead you

When you are hurting, He'll heal you

When you are broken, He'll mend you.

When you face loss, He'll provide for you.

When you face grief, He'll comfort you

And one day, because you believe in Him, when you face death, He will carry

you to heaven...

He is JESUS CHRIST and He is the ONLY WAY to God.

He is the Way, the Truth & the Life, no one comes to the Father except

through Him.

And He is available for everybody, everywhere, everytime in every way!

He is the Lord and He is Faithful!

And that is who God is.

To Him be all the glory, power and majesty for ever and ever AMEN!

XLT - Next Thurs!
Dear Youth Leaders,
No, XLT does not stand for Extra Large T-Shirt. Nor is it the new Ford Ranger Bakkie we're trying to sell you (this joke is funnier in the Free State). It's about EXALT!
A night of ENCOUNTER - and it's happening next Thursday evening!

Basically, we have a lot of fun, praise God with an awesome live band, hear an amazing talk by an Australian American from Life Teen and then head into intimate time with Jesus in Adoration and, for those who want it, Confession.

This night can turn your life around - and the lives of your teens. No one meets Jesus and leaves unchanged.

We want to see you there. The poster with details is below.

Please let us know (by Monday) if you're coming, and how many people you're bringing. Looking forward to seeing you.

Also, see the other two cool events coming up soon (below)

God bless!

Camp Testify!
Registrations now open! Spread the word!
We want to see ALL of you!

Dear Parish Priests, Youth Leaders, Religious and PPC Chairs,

I hope you are feeling fantastic!

We are excited to announce that registrations for CAMP TESTIFY (not to be confused with our leadership training camp) are officially open!

Camp Testify 2015 is an initiative of the Youth Chaplaincy Team of the Catholic Archdiocese of Cape Town to unite all youth leaders in faith and love before our God.

In a world full of apathy, indifference and individualism we know that we are the ones called to be a contradiction, to go against the flow and to be a prophetic voice to our generation. We know that to set the world ablaze with a passion for Jesus, our hearts must first be ablaze themselves.
So we gather in the name of the Lord, to seek Him with all our hearts and grow in fellowship with each other, to be inspired and sent out to passionately build God's kingdom. May our lives testify to His greatness!

Please download the poster below and display all around your parish!

How He Loves
by JULIE LAI

A speaker at the Life Teen Leadership Conference asked all the young women in the room to sit down and all the young men to stand up. He proceeded to say, “These young women have all been hurt by men in some way, many very deeply.”

He said that in a moment he would ask the hundreds of young men, our brothers-in-Christ standing beside us, to sing the song, “How He Loves” over us. He said that, in this prayer of song, we as women were going to allow God to heal us from the hurt that the men in our lives have caused.

While these young men sung with arms reached out over us, my heart pierced with the pain that my own father had caused because of his inability to be the father figure I longed for. I also couldn’t help but hear the ache in their voices while they sung, as they too were hurting from the men in their lives. I understood the broken stories of the young men and women around me from their father’s actions or lack of actions. I understood the painful feeling that many of us know all too well.

Yet as these young men sang over us, for the first time I felt our Heavenly Father’s unconditional love. Sure, I had felt God’s love infinite times before, but this was the first time I understood my Father’s love for me. I understood that even though my earthly father was not perfect, I have a Father who is perfect and loves me more than I can possibly comprehend.

God graces us with our biological fathers so that they can mirror our Heavenly Father’s love to us. He wants to give them the graces they need to fulfill the task of loving, nurturing, and leading us, however, this is difficult when our earthly fathers don’t know or understand the love of God.

When Jesus was instructing the disciples how to pray, He makes no mistake by calling God “Our Father.” He does this purposefully to draw us closer and closer to our intimate God. When Jesus’ dying body hung on the cross, He called out to His Father (Luke 23:46). And, because of the special bond between a father and a child, Jesus wasn’t calling up to some obscure being in the sky. He was calling for His Dad.

Just imagine a small toddler shouting “daddy, daddy, daddy” when they’ve just fallen, when they want to be picked up, or when their dad comes home from work. This is what our relationship with God must mirror. When we are broken, bruised, and want to be loved, we should be able to run into our Heavenly Father’s embrace.

Our God, though great, all-powerful, and the Creator of the universe, is our Father, and He is personal with us.

In the same way:

When I’m tired and weary, my Heavenly Father allows me to rest on His arms and listen to His Sacred Heart beat.

When I’m upset and frustrated, my Heavenly Father just listens to me pour it all out.

When I forget about God, I never leave my Heavenly Father’s mind.

When I don’t feel attractive, my Heavenly Father reminds me that I’m His masterpiece and His carefully, thought-out creation.

When I cry, my Heavenly Father gazes at me with compassion and understanding.

When I run far away like the prodigal son, my Heavenly Father waits for me patiently and welcomes me home with open arms.

When I’m caught and tangled up in sin, my Heavenly Father meets me and my mess in the confessional with gentleness and love.

When I feel worthless, my Heavenly Father tells me I’m His child.

When I feel unloved, my Heavenly Father says I’m worth dying for.

I may not know what your relationship with your dad looks like. I may not know the way he has wronged you or the ways he wasn’t there for you. But I do know the pain — and for that I am so sorry. But I also know that our Heavenly Father is so madly, passionately, and insanely in love with us.

Because when we use the word “Father” and depend on God as our Father, we unite ever so tightly to an almighty and indescribable God. We allow the God of the universe to fill and mend our broken hearts with divine Fatherly love. We allow Him to love us at every moment, hour, and minute. And we allow Him to love us immensely and completely as our Father and us as His precious child.

“Oh, how He loves us… How He loves us so…”

This is our prayer and intention for you who attend, and for the whole world! After receiving amazing Grace in the Mass, we will have lunch together and continue with an Amazing Race!

Please download and print this poster (click here) and display it all around your parish.
