"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. (1Tim 2:1-2, NIV)
Please pray for our Country.
Pray that our Lord would intervene, to bring an end to corruption, and greed in the Presidency, in all sphere's of government, in business and the private sector, in individuals and in our own hearts.
Pray for that our President, might truly come to repentance and faith in Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. And that we likewise would repent over our own hearts that are often cold and all concerned with our own self-interests, rather than the plight of the poor and powerless.
Pray for the poor and vulnerable in our country, who are both victims of government's incompetence, and corruption as well as the neglect and greed of their fellow South Africans.
Pray for racial reconciliation, where the wounds of our past are still very near the surface, pray that there would be peaceful and constructive dialog across divisions of race and class, that God would open our hearts to listen, and to move our hands to serve and to be generous with our wealth and our lives, as Jesus did for us.
Pray that there would be and end to violence in the name of political ideas and agendas.
Pray that If it is God's will, that Jacob Zuma be removed or step down as President, that it would happen peacefully, and the Lord might raise up a man or women to replace him, who would be full of wisdom, who would lead through serving, and would uphold justice and equality in our Country.
Lord Jesus, We pray for our South Africa, that you would bless our Country.
