Meet Liesl Townsend from South Africa
Liesl is the Joint International Coordinator of ICDF and has been involved in Christian dance leadership since 1981. With a background in Social Work and Coaching, she founded the ❤️UTHANDO programme, using music and movement to encourage healing and emotional expression.
Her passion is creating inclusive dance communities where everyone is welcome.
In this practical workshop, discover how to:
• Adapt movement and choreography for different abilities
• Include dancers of different ages and experience levels
• Build confidence and a sense of belonging
• Work creatively with physical limitations
• Focus on what dancers CAN do
• Create spaces where everyone can move, worship and participate
Whether you’re starting a dance group or making an existing group more inclusive, come and rethink what a dance group can be!

REMEMBERING SAARTJIE DE WET
A Life of Dance • Worship • Leadership • Legacy
International Christian Dance Fellowship (ICDF) invites you to a special commemorative gathering celebrating the life and legacy of Saartjie de Wet.

Saartjie was a woman who gave herself wholeheartedly to God, dance, worship and the development of Christian dance ministry. Her contribution to both CDFSA and ICDF continues to inspire dancers, worshippers and leaders across generations.

HER LEGACY
Through her life and ministry, Saartjie demonstrated that:
Dance can be worship
Movement can carry a message
Leadership can serve others
A life surrendered to God can leave a legacy

This special event will provide an opportunity to remember, celebrate and honour her journey, her contribution and the lives she touched through Christian dance.

“Her dance may have ended, but her legacy continues to move.”

CDFSA 12th NATIONAL CONFERENCE 2026
DAY 2 | CALLED TO DANCE
📍 Pine Lodge Resort, Gqeberha
📅 3 July 2026

What a phenomenal second day of the CDFSA 12th National Conference – Called to Dance!
Day 2 was filled with passionate worship, practical training, leadership development, and life-changing encounters with God. Delegates were inspired, equipped, and challenged to grow both spiritually and artistically as they embraced their calling in dance ministry.
The day featured engaging workshops in Pilates, Jazz-Cabaret, Contemporary, Mime, Sign Language Dance, and Flags, providing valuable skills and fresh creative inspiration.
A significant highlight was the CDFSA Annual General Meeting, where members reflected on the journey of the ministry and looked ahead with renewed vision and purpose.
The evening concluded with a powerful worship and ministry session led by Liesl Townsend, reminding us that our greatest purpose is to glorify God through lives of worship and obedience.

A heartfelt thank you to every facilitator, speaker, volunteer, and delegate who made Day 2 such a rich and memorable experience. Together, we continue to move forward in unity, excellence, and purpose.

What an incredible start to our 12th National Conference!
Delegates from across South Africa gathered in unity as we celebrated our shared calling to worship God through dance. Day 1 was filled with heartfelt worship, inspiring teaching, dynamic workshops, meaningful fellowship, and powerful ministry.
From the opening session to the evening worship encounter, we experienced God's presence in a fresh and life-changing way. Every class, every movement, and every moment reminded us that we are truly "Called to Dance."

Thank you to every delegate, facilitator, volunteer, and prayer partner for making Day 1 unforgettable. We look forward to all that God has in store as the conference continues!
