As a new school year begins, we want to send our love, prayers, and encouragement to all students, parents, and teachers in our community.

To our children: Step into this year with courage and faith! Every lesson learned and challenge faced is part of God’s plan to help you grow and succeed.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

To our parents: You are doing an incredible job! Trust that your love and guidance are shaping bright futures. Lean on God’s strength as you navigate this season.

To our teachers: Thank you for being the hands and hearts shaping young minds. May God bless you with wisdom, patience, and joy in your calling.

Let us keep our children and schools in prayer as they begin this new chapter. Here’s to a year filled with learning, growth, and God’s abundant blessings!

Today, our parish came together in a spirit of unity and hope as we offered a special blessing for all children and teachers preparing to embark on the 2025 school year. Together, we prayed for wisdom, courage, and kindness to guide them in the months ahead.

Reverend Monwabisi Peter reminded us of the powerful words from 1 Peter 3:12:
“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their prayer.”

May this verse inspire every learner and educator to walk with faith, knowing that God watches over them and hears their prayers. As a community, let us continue to uplift them in prayer and love throughout this new season of growth and learning.

First Sunday Eucharist – The Epiphany of Our Lord

Today, we came together for our first Eucharist of the new year, celebrating the Epiphany of Our Lord which marks the revelation of Christ to the Gentiles, symbolized by the visit of the Magi, and reminds us of the universality of God’s salvation. This holy day invites us to reflect on how Christ is made known to us and how we are called to reveal His love to the world.

We were deeply blessed by the presence of The Revd Thabang and The Revd Khwezi and family, who joined us in worship and fellowship, enriching our celebration.

As we continue the journey of faith, let us be inspired by the words of Isaiah:
“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” – Isaiah 60:1

May we, like the Magi, seek Christ faithfully, offer Him the best of ourselves, and share His light with all.

Wishing all our wonderful and dedicated page followers a blessed 2025.

Last Night’s Festive Youth Group Gathering – 20 December 2024

What a wonderful way to end the year! Our Friday night Youth Group gathered for the final time in 2024, dressed in festive colors and filled with excitement.

Here’s what we did:
• Caught up through heartfelt conversations.
• Opened the evening with prayer.
• Enjoyed a competitive group obstacle course using balloons and hula-hoops.
• Played a fun 3-word 30 Seconds guessing game.
• Laughed during the gift gamble game, unwrapping a mystery prize based on dice rolls.
• Reflected with a written discussion game called WHAT IF?

What these activities taught us:
• Fun can bring us closer together.
• Listening is an essential skill.
• Teamwork truly makes the dream work.
• Losing is a learning experience—find the good in every attempt.
• “If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again.”
• Every question has an answer, even if it’s not what we expect.
• Introverts can find joy in community too.
• Cheating never leads to lasting success.
• When we look to God for guidance, our next step is always forward.

We are so proud of the young people who attended and contributed to making the night special. Thank you for your generous donations of dog and cat food, which will be delivered to the Grassy Park SPCA as our final outreach of the year.

A heartfelt thank you to the parents for their unwavering support. Your involvement plays a vital role in the success of our Youth Group, and we are so grateful for you.

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” – Psalm 133:1

Wishing you all a blessed and joyful festive season. See you in 2025.

With peace, love and joy, always remember to Love All and Serve All.

Blessings to All,
Chaern, Jade and Jamie

Follow up presentation to Parishioners... 5 Pillars of Stewardship for Children of God by Children of God... Thank you Sunday school 🙏

1. Everyone Belongs to God: It's important to remember that we are all part of God's family. We should care for our relationships with others by being respectful, kind, good listeners, forgiving, and loving.

2. Use Your Talents for God: Each of us has special gifts, like music, art, sports, or helping others. We should use these talents to help our community and honor God. We can share our gifts, encourage friends, participate in church activities, and pray for guidance on how to use our talents.

3. True Wealth: Being wealthy isn't just about having money. True wealth comes from being healthy, having good friends and family, gaining knowledge, and enjoying fun experiences. These things make us rich in happiness and joy.

4. Stewardship Systems: Learning about stewardship means taking care of what we have. We can create chore charts, recycle, track library books, and manage allowances to practice responsibility and care for our surroundings.

5. Stewardship as Worship: Taking care of the world and helping others is a way to show our love for God. We can practice stewardship by cleaning up the environment, caring for pets and plants, donating to those in need, and being kind to others.

By understanding and practicing these lessons, we can appreciate what we have and show our love for God and the world around us! AMEN ❤️

Flashback Friday ✨

Saturday, 30 November, our Liturgical Dance Ministry hosted a beautiful High Tea to raise funds for new liturgical dance clothing. The event was a great success, and we are incredibly grateful for the love and support shown by our parish community.

✨ “Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with tambourine and harp.” – Psalm 149:3

Your generosity helps us continue to glorify God through the art of dance. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us and to each dancer who ministered on the day.

The Sunday school shared what "stewardship" is about!

Stewardship means taking care of things that belong to someone else. They shared a story about a special figurine that belongs to their grandmother and explained that it’s important to take good care of it because it’s not theirs; it belongs to someone else. If they sold it or gave it away, they wouldn’t be a good steward.

Just like that figurine, God has given us many things—like our money, clothes, toys, and even our time and talents... How well we take care of these gifts shows how good of a steward we are. So, let’s remember to honour God by taking care of everything He has given us! AMEN 🙏

Youth in Action ✨

Yesterday, 10 December 2024 our amazing youth members dedicated their holiday to serving the church by volunteering to clean the hall. They worked hard to take inventory, declutter, and label everything, making it so much easier for everyone to find what they need.

We are so grateful for their good hearts, dedication, and teamwork. Thank you, YPM, for embodying the spirit of service.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” - Colossians 3:23
