ST. Peter’s Parish embarked on an intensive Spiritual edification Rally, over this past weekend, from the 28th to the 30th of August. The Rally might have come to an end, but the fire has been ignited, hearts have been renewed, and the call to serve has been strengthened!

The St. Peter’s Parish family gathered in faith, worship, fellowship, prayer, and reflection under a powerful theme:

“REVIVE US, STRENGTHEN US, AND SEND US TO SERVE.”
Acts 2:42

What an extraordinary weekend it was! God met us in every service, every song, every prayer, every conversation, and every message.

We opened our rally on Friday with a beautiful Revival and Gospel Music Evening, creating an atmosphere where hearts could reconnect with God.

Br Henry led us in a powerful music ministry, taking us into a time of praise and worship and preparing our hearts to receive God’s Word.

We were then blessed by Pastor Iris, who delivered a stirring revival message that called us to return to the Lord with all our hearts. It was a timely reminder that true revival begins when we allow God to renew us from within.

The evening concluded with prayers for spiritual renewal, for our families, wards, leagues, leadership, Parish and the wider community.

The revival fire was burning!

Saturday was a day of learning, reflection, empowerment and spiritual growth.
Through meaningful and thought-provoking sessions, we were challenged to look at how we can strengthen our ministry and become more effective servants and leaders within the church.

We reflected on:

🔹 Ward restructuring for effective ministry in the Church
🔹 Recruitment strategies for congregational spiritual growth
🔹 Empowering leaders for mission and service
🔹 Working together through group discussions and practical planning for spiritual growth
🔹 Developing action plans for our wards

It was more than just a programme, it was a time of spiritual edification, honest reflection, and renewed commitment.

We were reminded that the church grows when each one of us understands our role, embraces our responsibility and is willing to serve.

We were revived. We were strengthened. And we were reminded that we are SENT!
And then came Sunday… what a glorious way to close the weekend, and close the Women's Month. The congregation wore a theme of a touch of green, embracing growth and purity, symbolising the beginning of a period of Growth and renewal in our Parish.

We gathered for a powerful Holy Communion Worship Service, bringing everything we had experienced throughout the weekend before the presence of God.

We were richly blessed by Pastor Abigail, who delivered a powerful and inspiring sermon that spoke directly to our hearts and reminded us of who we are as God's people.

As we gathered around the Lord's Table, we were reminded that we do not leave the church the same way we entered.

We came seeking renewal.
We received strength.
We encountered God's grace.
And we were sent out to serve.
The Rally may be over, but the Mission continues!

As St. Peter’s Parish moves forward, may the lessons, prayers, worship, and fellowship of this weekend continue to bear fruit in our families, wards, leagues, ministries, and communities and the Church of Christ.

May we not simply talk about revival, may we live it.
May we not simply receive strength, may we use it to strengthen others.
May we not simply hear the call to serve, may we answer it
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

REVIVED.
STRENGTHENED.
SENT TO SERVE.

The weekend is over. The celebration is over. But the work of God continues!

Let the revival continue.
Let the strength remain.
Let us go and serve!

Today, St Peter’s Parish came alive in faith, colour, fellowship and celebration! Our All Women’s Service was a powerful and uplifting celebration of women, reminding us of the strength, dignity, gifts, sacrifices and God-given purpose that women bring to the Body of Christ.
And yes… the purple was definitely showing! From elegant touches to beautiful shades, the women of St Peter’s Parish proudly came dressed with a touch of purple a colour that carries a powerful message during Women’s Month. Purple is traditionally associated with dignity, justice, strength, courage and empowerment, making it a fitting symbol of the value and resilience of women.
Today, we wore purple not simply as a colour, but as a statement:
💜 We honour the women who came before us.
💜 We celebrate the women standing with us today.
💜 We empower the women who will come after us.
💜 We recognise the dignity and God-given worth of every woman.
💜 We stand together against anything that diminishes the value, voice and dignity of women.
Our theme for this Women’s Month, “Honouring Women, Strengthening the Body of Christ,” drawn from 1 Corinthians 12:12–27, reminded us that although we are many, we are one body in Christ. Every woman has a place. Every gift has value. Every contribution counts. Every act of love and service strengthens the whole.
But the Word also met us where many women truly are.
Matthew 11:28–30 gave us the beautiful invitation:
“Come to Me… and I will give you rest.”
For the woman who is always giving.
For the woman carrying her family.
For the woman serving in the Church.
For the woman silently fighting battles.
For the woman who has been strong for everyone else.
Jesus says: COME.
Come when you are tired.
Come when you are overwhelmed.
Come when you need restoration.
Come when you need direction.
Come when you simply need to sit in His presence.
Because before we are called to serve, we are invited to rest in Christ.
And from that place of rest, we rise!
We rise as women of faith.
We rise as women of courage.
We rise as women who pray, lead, nurture, build and serve.
We rise to strengthen our families, communities and Church.
We rise knowing that when women are strengthened, the Body of Christ is strengthened!
Today was more than a Women’s Month celebration,it was a reminder of who we are, whose we are, and what happens when women walk together in faith and purpose.
To every woman who showed up in her beautiful touch of purple, lifted her voice in worship, shared fellowship, served, prayed, laughed and celebrated.
YOU ARE SEEN. YOU ARE VALUED. YOU ARE NEEDED. YOU MATTER.
Happy Women’s Month from St Peter’s Parish!
May we continue to honour women, strengthen one another, and build a Church where every gift is welcomed, every voice is valued, every woman is respected, and every person has a place in the Body of Christ.

Today, the members of St Peter’s Parish came together through our Joint Leagues and Organisations to extend the love of Christ to the community of Ravensmead through a heartfelt Outreach Programme.

With open hands and compassionate hearts, we shared hearty meals, love, hugs, and encouragement with members of our community. Through our School Shoes Donation Drive and Sanitary Pads Drive, we were able to bless children, young people, and families with practical support, dignity, and hope.

We also had the privilege of honouring our elderly community members by presenting them with Jars of Hope, carefully prepared jars filled with ingredients for a warm and nourishing soup. This small gift carried a powerful message: You are remembered, you are valued, and you are deeply loved.

Today was more than an act of charity; it was an expression of Christ’s love in action. Every meal shared, every pair of school shoes given, every sanitary pack distributed, every Jar of Hope received, and every embrace offered reflected the compassion and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18 (NIV)

To every member who gave generously, served faithfully, and loved wholeheartedly, we are very thankful. Together we continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing light, hope, dignity, and healing to our community.

Raise Them Right, Raise Them in Christ

There is no greater gift we can give our children than to guide them in living a life rooted in Christ, with God at the very centre of their growth, character, and purpose.

On the 26th of April, St Peter’s Parish joyfully hosted a heartwarming Children’s Service, led entirely by our young stars.
From their beautiful songs to their vibrant dances, the children filled the church with pure joy and celebration.

The message of the day, by our Parish Pastor, Rev Willie Chakane. drawn from Ephesians 4:32, reminded us all to be kind, compassionate, and forgiving, values our children shared so beautifully through their words and actions.

The congregation was truly blessed, inspired, and uplifted as they witnessed the faith, confidence, and love for God shining through our children.

Indeed, the future of the Church is bright and have a certain future with involvement of our Children in leading our services!

On the 11th of April, St Peter’s Parish came alive as we hosted a beautiful High Tea Event under a theme that proudly celebrated our rich heritage. 🌿☕️

The day was nothing short of spectacular—filled with vibrant festivities, inspiring speakers who uplifted and revived our spirits, and breathtaking musical renditions that truly stole the show. 🎶

Our members showed up in style, dressed in stunning vintage attire that perfectly honored the theme, adding a touch of timeless elegance to the occasion. 👒✨

It was a day of connection, celebration, and remembering who we are and where we come from. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this event so memorable!
