𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 | 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲

On Sunday, 07 December 2025, Rector Hilton Smith conducted the Sunday School divine service at Newton Congregation. This service also marked the final Sunday School divine service for 2025.
The Bible text for the service was taken from Luke 10:39:
“Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word.”
Message:
During Advent, we reflect on Jesus not only in connection with His birth, but also His return.
After the divine service, the Valedictory commenced, marking a significant milestone for the confirmands who are concluding their journey in Sunday School and joining the ranks of the Young People. They expressed their joy and pride in the spiritual growth the confirmands have demonstrated, and emphasised the importance of remaining steadfast in faith, active within the congregation, and committed to a life that reflects Christ’s love and teachings.
The teachers, who have faithfully accompanied the confirmands throughout their Sunday School years, offered words of gratitude and blessing. They encouraged the confirmands to carry forward the values they have learned: faithfulness, obedience, service, love, and to continue nurturing their relationship with God as they enter a new chapter in their spiritual journey.
In turn, the confirmands expressed sincere appreciation to their parents, ministers, and teachers, acknowledging the support, prayers, and guidance that have shaped their understanding of the faith.
With hearts filled with joy and anticipation, the confirmands now look forward to the blessed Confirmation Day that lies ahead.
