I also want to... be like Mary.

On Sunday, 7 December 2025, our Rector CEV H. Brophy conducted the Sunday School End-of-Year Divine Service, using the bible text word from Luke 10:39.

He highlighted the beautiful example of Mary, who chose to sit at the feet of Jesus and attentively listen to His word. He encouraged the children to follow this example by prioritising their relationship with the Lord, remaining close to Him, and making space in their daily lives for the teachings of Christ.

A role-play presentation was offered by the Sunday School teachers. The performance illustrated the contrast between worldly distractions and the blessing of choosing the Lord’s word.

He also expressed gratitude for the work of the teachers and the support of the parents who walk alongside the children in their spiritual development.

HOW CAN WE SHOW OUR GRATITUDE?

On Sunday, 5 October 2025, the Sherwood Park congregation gathered in gratitude and joy for the Thanksgiving Divine Service, conducted by Rector CEV. H. Brophy.

The divine service was based on the Bible word from Colossians 3:17, reminding all that every action, word, and thought should reflect our gratitude toward God. We are encouraged to recognise God’s hand in every blessing, big or small, and to let thankfulness be visible through love, kindness, and service to others.

Priest R. Fortune was called up to serve.

A special highlight was the Sunday School children’s heartfelt singing during the divine service. They were beautifully led by one of the children themselves.

The choir concluded the divine service with a powerful and majestic rendition of “Lord, Lord, We Thank Thee Now,” leaving the congregation uplifted and filled with gratitude.

Truly, it was a morning of heartfelt praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father.
