On Sunday, 30 August 2026, the Sunday School Lessons were lead by the Ministers of Colorado Congregation.

We express gratitude to the Ministers for their leadership and sacrifices, as well as to the children for their warm welcome during the Ministers' presence in their lessons.

Fourth Sunday | The Lord's Prayer |
Change through forgiveness

On Sunday, 26th July, our Congregation of Colorado was richly blessed through a spiritually uplifting Divine Service conducted by our District Rector, Shawn Adonis, who called Evangelist Ashley Vlotman to serve alongside him.

The Bible Text was.takem from the Book of Matthew 6:12, "And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."

Message:
■Those who reflect on God’s forgiveness discover within themselves
a willingness to forgive.

Summary:
■ Let us pass on the forgiveness we receive from God in our daily lives.
■ A negative example is the unforgiving servant who himself received forgiveness, but did not grant it to others.
■ It can be difficult and painful to forgive, but we can ask God to give us the strength we need to do so.

The congregation also experienced the joy of Holy Baptism, as little Luca was received into God's covenant through the sacrament of Holy Baptism. It was a beautiful and memorable moment for Luca's parents and grandparents, the extended family, and the entire Congregation.

Colorado Congregation was blessed with the reinstatement of one Deacon, Deacon Edward Carelse.

The choir concluded the divine service with a joyful rendition of 164, "This
is the day that the Lord hath made".

Today, our Young People also had the joy of conducting the Sunday School lessons, sharing God’s Word with our children through engaging teaching, learning, and fellowship. It was a wonderful opportunity to serve and encourage the next generation in their walk of faith. May the Lord continue to bless both our Young People and Sunday School children as they grow together in His love and Word.

Sunday Departed Divine Service
Jesus’ descent into the realm
of the dead.

This morning, DR C.Cookson officiated the Divine Service on the July 05, 2026.

Text:
■ 1 Peter 4:6 - "For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who
are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit".

Message:
■ After His crucifixion, Jesus brought salvation to the realm of the dead.

Summary:
■ After His death on the cross, Jesus descended into the realm of the dead and preached to those in need of help.
■ As affirmed in the New Testament, both God’s word and the sacraments are now accessible to the dead.

Thereafter, the District Rector warmly greeted the members as they departed home, bringing the blessed fellowship to a close. You'll surely be missed as a District Rector.

Thoughts of peace

On Sunday 28 June 2026, Lentegeur Congregation welcomed visiting Rector, Priest Alphonzo Jonkerman from Lentegeur East Congregation. He was accompanied by Priest Leon Jooste, who was called up to serve the congregants.

The text word used as a basis for the Divine Service was read from
Jeremiah 29:11(NKJV):
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future
and a hope.

The fourth Sunday serves to prepare the congregations for the divine service for the departed.

Message
God gives us peace, hope, and a future.

Summary:
■ God promises peace in the face of injustice, sin, and suffering.
■ The incarnation of God in Jesus Christ originates in the idea of peace.
■ The return of Christ, eternal fellowship with God, and the new creation are promises that give hope and a future
to both the living and the dead.

Following the closing of the Divine Service, the Rector was thanked by Priest Kenny Abrahams.

Thereafter, the Rector warmly greeted the members as they departed, bringing the blessed fellowship to a close.

Our Future Peace

Sunday 21st June Divine Service was conducted by Rector Ashley Vlotman.

Bible text rooted in the book of Hebrews 10:23 . "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."

Message:
Hope in God allows us to look to the future with peace in our hearts.

Summary:
- Peace through Christ is essential for joy and true happiness in life
- Our future peace comes from the hope in Christ return
- the hope is rooted in the certainty that God is faithful and brings peace to all believers.

During Divine Service, the Act of Holy Baptism was performed on 4 babies.

Following the Divine Service, the Congregants participated in the Annual Evacuation Drill. Under the guidance of the Safety Marshalls everyone evacuated safely and in orderly fashion to the designated assembly points.

Sunday School Divine Service

On Sunday, 14 June 2026
Divine service conducted by Rector Ashley Vlotman.

Text: Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

The service was centred on the reassuring words of Jeremiah 29:11. The children were reminded that God has loving thoughts toward His children - thoughts of peace and not of evil. Even when others may treat us unfairly or do us wrong, we are called to have the same thoughts as God by showing love, kindness, and forgiveness. Through this, we reflect the character of our Heavenly Father in our daily lives.

A beautiful message shared during the service was that every child is valuable to God. Each one is precious in His sight, and He has a purpose and plan for every life. Because God loves and cares for us so deeply, we can confidently place our future in His hands.

The consoling assurance that God has planned a future full of peace and hope for His children was given at the end of the service. We may proceed with assurance as long as we maintain our faith in Him, knowing that we are in the capable hands of our loving God.

We are going to meet the Lord.

Apostle Bradley Bourne, made a very special visit to Colorado Congregation Church on Sunday, March 15, 2026, for Sunday Divine Service. The Apostle was accompanied by our District Rector, Clarence Cookson and Community Evangelist Ashley Vlotman.

The scripture shared with the congregants was taken from the Book of Genisis 24:58 (NKJV): "Then they called Rebekah and said to her, “Will you go with this man?” And she said, “I will go.”

The message centered on the theme: “We are going to meet the Lord.” Reflecting on the account of Abraham sending his servant to find a wife for Isaac, the Apostle explained the deeper picture of salvation: Abraham representing God, Isaac representing Jesus Christ, the servant representing the Holy Spirit, and Rebekah representing the bride. Just as Rebekah willingly responded to the call, we too are invited to say, “I will go” as we prepare to meet the Lord.

Key moment in the Divine service, the Apostle dispensed the sacrament of Holy Sealing, reminding the congregation that although it may appear as a natural process, it is the Lord who has chosen and adorned His children on their way to meeting Him.
The Act of Holy Sealing was dispensed for 3 adults and 17 babies.

In closing the choir rendered; "We love our Faith", ending the service on a powerful note.

The Apostle took the opportunity to greet the Congregation after the Divine Service and a few memorable photos captured with the ministers who took part in homiletics assessments as they received their certificates.

During the divine service, the Act of Holy Baptism was performed for 2 children.

After the service, the Priest greeted the congregation and took a photograph with those who were baptised and the parents of the children.

Last night's Choir Practise in Preparation for Service for the Departed. 🌿

On Sunday, 22nd February 2026, Divine Service in preparation for the Service for the Departed next week was conducted by Evangelist Ashley Vlotman.

The text used as the basis was read from Luke 15:5–6 (NKJV),
"And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!"

The message emphasized that we rejoice in knowing that God wants to save all people.

When the Pharisees and scribes took offense to Jesus’ kindness toward sinners, Jesus responded by telling them the parable of the lost sheep. The lost sheep symbolizes humankind, which has fallen into sin and thus strayed from God (Isaiah 53:6; 1 Peter 2:25). The Son of God came to earth to seek and save them. The fact that He lays us on His shoulders shows that we are unable to come to God on our own. Only the merit earned by Jesus Christ on the cross allows us to enter into fellowship with God.

Summary:
■ God loves every human being and desires their salvation.
■ Every human being is dependent on salvation in Christ.
■ Christ calls sinners to repent and follow Him.
■ We rejoice in the salvation that Christ offers us and our neighbour.
■ This joy motivates us to intercede for the salvation of others.

During the divine service, the Act of Holy Baptism was performed for 4 children.

After the service, the Evangelist greeted the congregation and took a photograph with those who were baptised and the parents of the children.
