On Sunday, Pastor Alwen Mentor led us through the “honor roll” of the early church in Romans 16:1-16. While it may look like a list of greetings, it is actually a profound theological statement: The Gospel is preserved and propelled by the faithful service and mutual encouragement of the saints.

1. The Ministry of the “Pillars”
Paul’s commendation of Phoebe and the household of Stephanas reminds us that service is the natural overflow of salvation. When we serve the church and our community, we are participating in the missio Dei - the mission of God. We are called to be “servants of the church” (v. 1), recognizing that no role is too small for the Kingdom.

2. Building the Body
Pastor Alwen highlighted that Paul’s greetings were an act of strengthening the brethren. True biblical encouragement isn’t just a compliment; it is the spiritual work of “building one another up” (1 Thess. 5:11).

This week, we challenge you to move beyond passive attendance and into intentional discipleship.

1. Identify a “Phoebe”: Find someone serving behind the scenes at Northpine Baptist and offer a specific word of gratitude or a tangible act of support.

2. If you haven’t yet, join a ministry and serve the church in obedience to God - be a part of the missio Dei!

Will you commit to being a “builder” this week? Comment “Amen” below if you’re taking up the challenge!

💬 Share in the comments who Jesus is to you 🤍

This morning, Pastor Adrian walked us through Mark 8, revealing the reality that even in Jesus’ time, people witnessed His miracles, listened to His teachings and yet still struggled to fully understand who He truly was. Crowds had opinions, the Pharisees questioned Him, and even His closest disciples wrestled with doubt and misunderstanding.

Then Jesus asks a question that changes everything:
“Who do you say I am?”

He’s not just a prophet. He’s not merely a teacher. Peter boldly responds:
“You are the Messiah.”

That same question still comes to each of us today. Even after seeing God’s work in our lives, hearing His Word and experiencing His love, we are invited to answer personally:
Who is Jesus to you?
