TITTLE : FIXED YOUR EYES ON JESUS
SCRIPT : NUMBER 21V8-9
DATE: 22FEB2026
Every Christian’s focus must be fixed on one thing: the cross where Jesus is. There is no way your eyes can be fixed on Jesus and you still crush or perish. One of the proofs that shows you are a true believer (a true Christian) is not when you prosper, succeed, or have good health. The real proof that you are a believer is when you are able to stand firm.
Jesus said, “Don’t lie to yourself by thinking you belong to the group of those who hear me preaching and call yourself one of them. The proof that you are one of them is defined when you are able to stand.” He said those who are believers are those who hear Him and do what He says. They are like a man who builds his house on the rock so that when storms come, the house can stand. But those who are not believers are like those who build their house on sand; when the storm comes, they perish. So the difference between a true Christian and a non-Christian is not in their possessions, but in standing firm.
The disciples of Jesus were on a boat, limited by the boat, while Jesus was above them, walking on the water. One disciple chose to be different. He fixed his eyes on Jesus, and the Bible says Peter focused on Jesus and walked on the water because he took the word of God into practice. Peter was standing on the water not by his own ability, but because he focused on Jesus.
The difference between Israel and David when they saw Goliath was not in the weapons or armor they had, but in their response. When Goliath came, Israel cowered and ran away, but it took a young boy, David, to stand firm. That was the difference. While Israel was running away, David stood. This is the proof that shows a young boy’s focus was not on what he had or how small he was, but his focus was on God. One of the things that made him stand was because he focused on God.
As Christians, we are known by standing in the midst of storms. When others are crushing, we are standing in the midst of poverty, rejection, and name-calling, and we still testify that God is God. That’s the proof of saying that we are Christians. Remember, the devil came to God and said, “Job has everything, that’s why he’s testifying, giving offerings, and doing that.” So he was trying to tell God, “Don’t be deceived by the worship of Job. Job doesn’t love you. The reason why he is doing this is because of the positions he has.” But God allowed the devil to tempt Job to show that Job’s focus was not on the things but on Him, on God. This is why, after everything was taken from him, Job still continued to testify about God. Job continued to stand. That’s the proof of a man that shows that man’s focus was on God. If we are Christians, in the midst of storms, God will allow the devil to tempt us. There are things that will be said about us. We’ll face storms, we’ll face rejections because God wants to really know who are those who are focusing on Him. Because those who are focusing on Him are the ones who are called sons and daughters.
THY KINGDOM COME THY WILL BE.
