🌟 Sunday School Coordinators Conference – Reflections 🌟

The Cape Coastal Apostle Area is pleased to announce the upcoming Sunday School Coordinators Conference, taking place on Saturday, 19 September 2026, at the beautiful Rustenberg Wine Estate, Stellenbosch.

With the theme “Reflections,” the conference will provide an opportunity for our Sunday School Coordinators to pause, reflect on their journey, share experiences, learn from one another, and look ahead with renewed purpose and enthusiasm. 🙏🏻✨

As we continue nurturing and guiding our children in their faith, may this gathering inspire meaningful conversations, strengthen our commitment to Sunday School ministry, and encourage us to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.

Divine service conducted by Del Kobus Louw and assisted to serve along Rector Charles Windvogel at Genadendal Congregation.

Our Bible text was taken out of Exodus 20:12 (excerpt) Message God is pleased when parents and children have a good relationship with one another.

The 4th commandment emphasises the responsibility of children towards their parents. It entails more than mere obedience or politeness. It requires us to ascribe value to them, take them seriously, treat them with dignity, and show them care.

Honouring your parents is a lifelong divine commandment rooted in respect, obedience, and care, but it is ultimately secondary to your obedience to God.

Jesus models the balance of placing God first while still fulfilling our duty to love, respect, and care for our parents.

The commandment to honour parents is timeless because it reflects God's will for generational relationships, fostering life gratitude, mutual solidarity, and shared responsibility.

The 4th Commandment obligates parents to raise children responsibly and behave in a God-pleasing way that earns their children's respect.

Ambassadors for Christ.

On Sunday, 9 August 2026, District Elder Louw conducted a Divine Service in the Napier Congregation, which was attended by all the Rectors of the Caledon District. The service provided a blessed opportunity for the ministers to gather in fellowship and to be strengthened by the Word of God.
The message centred on apostolicity as an identifying characteristic of the Church of Christ. It was explained that the apostolic ministry originates with Jesus Christ, who called and sent His Apostles to proclaim the Gospel and to lead people into fellowship with God. Following the death of the original Apostles, the apostolic doctrine was preserved, and in the nineteenth century the apostolic ministry was restored through the renewed Apostle ministry.

Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV):
“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ…”

As ambassadors for Christ, the early Apostles were entrusted with proclaiming the message of reconciliation to God, reaching both Jews and Gentiles. This same commission continues today through the Apostles. Their calling is to proclaim the Gospel and invite all people to be reconciled with God through Jesus Christ.
The message also reminded the congregation that this responsibility is not limited to those who serve in an official capacity. Every believer is called to be an ambassador for Christ within their own sphere of influence. Through our words, actions and example, we can share the love of Christ and make His message of reconciliation known to those around us.
Following the Divine Service, District Elder Louw held a meeting with the Rectors of the Caledon District. This was a significant occasion, as it was the first in-person gathering of the Caledon District Rectors since the restructuring of the Districts in January 2026. As all other meetings were done on-line.
The gathering provided an opportunity for fellowship, mutual exchange and strengthening the unity of the ministers as they continue to fulfil their responsibility in serving the congregations entrusted to them. May God bless and strengthen all those who serve in His Church, so that together we may faithfully fulfil our calling as ambassadors for Christ.

💙 Dare2Care | New Apostolic Church Caledon District 💙

Love was put into action across the Caledon District as our Young People gathered for a truly inspiring Dare2Care Weekend.

In congregations and clusters throughout the District, the Young People stepped beyond the church walls to be a living testimony in their communities. Outreach initiatives included visits to residential aged care facilities, the distribution of food to those in need, and community clean-up projects. In every smile shared, every helping hand extended, and every act of kindness shown, the love of Jesus Christ became visible.

The weekend commenced with Friday evening G2G (Get ToGether) gatherings, where the Young People enjoyed blessed fellowship, meaningful discussions, joyful games, and refreshments. It was a precious time of strengthening bonds, encouraging one another in faith, and preparing hearts for a weekend of service in the Lord’s name.

Dare2Care is more than an event, it is a living reminder of our calling to express our faith through love, compassion, and service. We extend heartfelt thanks to every Young Person, leader, and congregation who so willingly gave of their time, strength, and talents. Your dedication has brought blessing and made a meaningful impact in the lives of many.

May we continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, serving our communities with humble hearts and reflecting His love wherever we are sent.

The weekend was concluded in a blessed manner with the Young People Divine Service conducted by District Apostle Pieter Lambert, during which the Word was taken from Colossians 3:12 (NKJV):

"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;"

A Life of Faithful Service Honoured

On Sunday, 26 July 2026, the Genadendal Congregation gathered in gratitude as Priest R. Witbooi was placed into retirement after faithfully serving in the ministry for 41 years.

The divine service was conducted by District Elder Louw, who expressed sincere appreciation to Priest Witbooi for his unwavering dedication to the work of the Lord over more than four decades. Words of gratitude were also extended to his wife for her steadfast love, sacrifice, and faithful support throughout his ministry.

The sermon centred on the gift of forgiveness and our calling to forgive as God forgives us. Through the proclamation of the forgiveness of sins, a transformation should take place within our hearts and spirits, enabling us to extend forgiveness to others. As we partake of Holy Communion, we are reminded of the freedom to seek forgiveness and to forgive one another.
The congregation was reminded of the words of Jesus Christ on the cross:
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." — Luke 23:34 (NKJV)
As Priest Witbooi now concludes his active ministry, we reflect with gratitude on the sacred commission entrusted to him. Through the laying on of hands by an Apostle, he became a vessel of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit, serving God's children and proclaiming the forgiveness of sins with love and faithfulness.

We thank Priest R. Witbooi for his devoted service and pray that God will continue to bless him and his wife with His peace, strength, and abundant grace in this new chapter of their lives.

𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐃
On Sunday, 19 July 2026, ministers from the Caledon, Grabouw, and Hermanus Districts gathered at the New Apostolic Church in Caledon Congregation for a blessed Minister's Divine Service conducted by Apostle Bradley Bourne.

The Bible word for the Divine Service was taken from 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NKJV):
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

The Apostle encouraged the ministers to remain steadfast and immovable in the fundamental truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His death, His resurrection, and His promised return. These truths must remain at the centre of our faith and our ministry.
District Elder Kobus Louw was called upon to serve along, followed by District Rector Carl Fredericks. Their participation further enriched the Divine Service and reflected the unity and fellowship in the ministry.

The ministers were reminded that the passing of time, life's trials, changing circumstances, or differing teachings must never weaken our conviction in the resurrection and return of Jesus Christ. The foundation of our stability is faith. When our faith is firmly rooted in Christ, we can remain steadfast and immovable.

The Apostle further emphasised that a servant's ministry begins with personal spiritual growth. As we work on our own salvation and continually strive to become more like Jesus Christ, we are better equipped to serve God's children with humility, love, faith, and without judgment.
A servant must be willing to work, teachable, and willing to deepen their understanding of God's Word. We serve because we believe. We follow the instructions of Jesus Christ out of faith, trusting that the Lord sees more than we do. Our service must be motivated by genuine love and a desire to serve God and His children.
The Word of God strengthens our faith and helps us to grow in our understanding of the salvation plan of Jesus Christ. Through the Word and the sacraments, we are continually prepared for the promised return of Christ. In Holy Communion, we remember that Jesus Christ gave His life for our sins so that we may receive salvation and enter into the Kingdom of God.

The Lord desires to save all. He respects our free will, yet we are called to accept His will and follow Him in faith. The work that the Lord has begun in us is the work of salvation, and He will faithfully bring it to completion as we remain connected to Him.
The ministers were encouraged:

𝐁𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠. 𝐁𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭. 𝐁𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐁𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝.

Our labour in the Lord is never in vain. As we faithfully serve, the Lord continues His work in us. Let us therefore remain firm in our faith in the resurrection and return of Jesus Christ, continually work on our own salvation, and give our very best to the Master.
The Apostle and the District Rectors took the opportunity to greet all ministers in attendance.

Today, on Youth Day, the Struisbaai en Bredasdorp Congregations reached out to the community through a soup distribution outreach. Many blessed moments were experienced as they shared warmth, kindness, and fellowship.

A sincere word of thanks goes to everyone who made sacrifices of their time, effort, and resources to make this outreach possible. Your willingness to serve and care for others has truly made a difference. May God richly bless each and every one for your contribution and dedication.

On 17 May 2026, the congregation in Riviersonderend was richly blessed as Apostle Bourne, accompanied by District Elder Louw, served the divine service. The text word was taken from Ezekiel 11:19–20:
“Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.”
The message centred on the new covenant and the transformation that God works within His children. The Apostle highlighted the various laws under which God’s children should live: the law of love, the law of faith, the law of humbleness, the law of growth, and the law of forgiveness. Through these divine laws, we are guided to live according to God’s will and remain united with Him and with one another.
The Apostle emphasised that the Lord desires to remove the stony heart and replace it with a heart of flesh, a heart that is willing to follow His ways, grow spiritually, and reflect His love.
A special moment of grace was experienced when Apostle Bourne also administered the sacrament of Holy Sealing on souls, strengthening them through the gift of the Holy Spirit.
May the word continue to bear fruit in our hearts as we strive to remain God’s people, with Him as our God.
