On 17 May 2026, the congregation in Riviersonderend was richly blessed as Apostle Bourne, accompanied by District Elder Louw, served the divine service. The text word was taken from Ezekiel 11:19–20:
“Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.”
The message centred on the new covenant and the transformation that God works within His children. The Apostle highlighted the various laws under which God’s children should live: the law of love, the law of faith, the law of humbleness, the law of growth, and the law of forgiveness. Through these divine laws, we are guided to live according to God’s will and remain united with Him and with one another.
The Apostle emphasised that the Lord desires to remove the stony heart and replace it with a heart of flesh, a heart that is willing to follow His ways, grow spiritually, and reflect His love.
A special moment of grace was experienced when Apostle Bourne also administered the sacrament of Holy Sealing on souls, strengthening them through the gift of the Holy Spirit.
May the word continue to bear fruit in our hearts as we strive to remain God’s people, with Him as our God.

In a blessed divine Service held by Apostle Bradley Bourne at Genadendal for the Cluster of Bereaville, Greyton and Genadendal. Accompanied by the DEL Kobus Louw as well as the Rectors of the Cluster. The Bible text used was out of Romans 16:20(NKJV)

The message called upon all believers to do what is good and avoid what is evil, to turn away from sin, and to strive to fulfil the will of God.
The congregation was reminded that through Jesus Christ, the victory over the devil has already been achieved. Yet, the adversary seeks to sow doubt and weaken faith through half-truths and deception. In contrast, God grants us His full truth. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are able to discern between good and evil, and are encouraged to find and protect our peace in God.

The service was further enriched through various acts performed:
• 10 souls from the Bereaville congregation and 21 Souls from Genadendal Congregation received the gift of the Holy Sealing.
• 3 deacons were ordained for the Bereaville congregation.
• 1 priest was ordained for the Genadendal congregation.
• 1 deacon and 1 priest were ordained for the Greyton congregation.

With gratitude and joy, the congregation experienced a service filled with divine grace, strengthening faith and unity in Christ.

Young People in Christ Divine Service

A blessed and uplifting YPiC Divine Service was held in Greyton, where Apostle Bourne served the word of God in a powerful and heartfelt manner.
The service was based on Matthew 6:33:
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
The word encouraged all young people to place God at the centre of their lives, trusting that He will provide in all circumstances. It was a call to realign our priorities and to seek that which is eternal above all else.
Priest Carelse was called up to serve alongside the Apostle, contributing to the rich and living proclamation of the word.
The atmosphere was one of unity, expectation, and joy, as the youth were strengthened in faith and reminded of their purpose in Christ.
After the service, all enjoyed warm fellowship together, sharing food and drinks while engaging in meaningful and joyful conversations. Truly, a service where hearts were touched and souls inspired to continue seeking first the kingdom of God.

The Heart of Coordination: Unity, Humility & Love

On 11 April 2026, coordinators gathered in Caledon to reflect on what it truly means to serve in the Lord’s work. The message was clear: coordination is not just about planning and organizing. It’s a spiritual calling rooted in unity, humility, and love.
As reminded in 1 Corinthians 12, we are all part of one body, each with a unique role to play. And in John 17:20–21, Jesus calls us to be one, because without unity, our service loses its spiritual value.
Coordination goes beyond administration. It’s about people. It’s about supporting the work of God with the right heart and intention.
But we were also reminded that even passion needs to be guided. When it shifts from God to self, it can lead to pride, disunity, and hurt. That’s why moments of reflection, like Saul’s in Acts 9:4, are so important. We are called to ask ourselves: • Am I serving with the right intention?
• Do I love the Lord more than my role?
Above all, we are reminded to serve with love (John 13:34). The congregation, the Bride of Christ, must always be treated with care, humility, and compassion.
Serving is not a right, but a privilege.
Let everything we do reflect Christ, in unity, humility, and love.

On Sunday, 12 April 2026, the congregation of Napier was blessed to have their Divine Service conducted by the visiting District Rector, District Elder Joseph Lee from Somerset West District.

The Bible text was read from John 20:19–20.
Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

The District Rector called up Priest Pieter van der Berg to serve along.

During the service, the District Elder bestowed the Holy Baptism blessing on baby Brayden and brother Jorenzel.

After the service, the District Rector took the time to greet the members and posed for some group photos with the entire congregation, the local ministers, and the family who participated in Holy Baptism. Thereafter, everyone enjoyed some delicious snacks while further fostering the fellowship emanated from the Divine Service.

A blessed and insightful training session was held with the ministers of Napier, Bredasdorp and Struisbaai, led by our District Elder Louw under the theme:

Serving with humility: the washing of feet

District Rector Louw’s visit to Napier brought much joy and strength on Sunday, 15 March 2026. The town of Napier is a picturesque little village and is home to South Africa’s only and largest vertical sundial.

The message of humility brought deep insight into the teaching of Jesus’ washing of his disciples’ feet as recorded in the gospel of John 13: 5. The District Rector emphasised that Jesus’ actions exceed the understanding of mankind. We follow Jesus’ example in serving others with humility. In service, we love others unconditionally, even when we do not understand them or agree with them. The Rector, Priest Francois Europa, was called up to serve along.

After the divine service, the District Rector spent a few moments with the Sunday School Children and Confirmands. Thereafter, the District Rector, accompanied by the Rector, served Holy Communion to Sister Katie Stuart. Sister Katie is the oldest member in our district and recently celebrated her 95th birthday.

Thereafter, the District Rector conducted the first training session on Serving and Me, entitled Me and My Influence, for the ministers of Napier, Bredasdorp, and Struisbaai. Filled with renewed purpose and vigor for the Lord’s work, the day was ended with a scrumptious lunch.
