The CATCH Movement is part of a move of God’s Spirit, globally, to raise up His standard as Isa. 59:19b says by, locally, uniting the hearts & minds of the Church in Bloemfontein, thus inspiring and empowering us into action as change agents in our city to advance God’s Kingdom. It is Christian Action To Change & Heal.
“...and the name of the city from that day shall be: The LORD is there.” (Eze
. 48:35)
Our Mandate:
Activating Biblical transformation in Bloemfontein by uniting all Kingdom actions by believers in Christ into one force and transforming society under the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit.
[Joh. 17:21 “Father, that they may all be ONE …that the world may believe that You have sent Me”]
Key Question we ask: What is the relevance of our faith to social problems? WHY the CATCH Movement?
+The PROMISES of God to our city are starting to become fulfilled
The Lord has given the following Scriptures – as Prophetic Words – over the past 20 years to the city of Bloemfontein: Isa. 66:7-11, 18; Jer. 29:7; Prov. 11:11; Isa. 61 & 62; Matt. 6:10, John 17:21; Jer. 33:3; Ps. 87; 1 Pet. 2:9; Rom. 8:19; Eph. 5:14; Matt. 5:14; Ps. 24 and more. God has declared, through various confirmations, that this is : A Beloved City; A “Womb” in the Spirit (a Birthing City); A City of Reconciliation; A City of Justice (Judicial capital); A Strategic City that influences the rest of SA; A Godly City in which God is glorified in churches, homes and in the marketplace; A City of Abundance; and A City of Blessing to its inhabitants and the nations.
+ Societal DECAY a harsh reality
Crime in our city is getting more and more out of control. 666-gangs are causing havoc in our schools through brutal criminal and occult activities. BFN has the highest Abortion rate in SA (an unborn child is killed every 30 minutes or less). Many adults & kids are terribly Addicted to alcohol, drugs, po*******hy, etc. Divorce rates are among the highest in SA. Basic services are crumbling. Corruption is hollowing out our economy.
+ Increasing Battle: We are LOSING our Christian heritage in the city to secular humanism
Our schools and education institutions are becoming places where tolerance and compromise are taught as the highest values, together with Evolution. Biblical values are no more the foundation of our society as, for instance, governance and business are often done with corrupt motives at the expense of the man on the street.
+ Our Challenge: Is the CHURCH of Bloemfontein and Kingdom marketplace ventures progressing as they should? Is the collective Body of Christ advancing God’s Kingdom as we’re supposed to? Are some congregations just trying to survive while others enjoy inward success? Why is the Church not focussed on significance (i.e. existing for the benefit of the rest of the Body and living for a purpose beyond their own)? Do we really have a Kingdom mindset? What is required for the Church of BFN to move from survival and success to significance in order to build God’s Kingdom in a way that it transforms our city?
+ What about the UNREACHED 90%? Statistics about Bloemfontein tell us that if we fill up all the churches in the city to full capacity only 10% of the city’s people would fit into them. Greater Bloemfontein has between 600 000 and 700 000 people living in quite close proximity. The Church needs to get to the more than 90% of unreached people in our city, which include people of all races (white, black, etc) – they are waiting for the Good News of Jesus Christ! Only the Church, through the power of the Holy Spirit, can offer true healing. FUNDAMENTAL CONVICTION:
Healing/restoration in our society can only come through reconciling the hearts of people with the heart of God.
