Good afternoon brethren. After three Sundays away from church, we were going to start again with our normal Sunday service on Sunday, 10th January 2021. However, due to the knew COVID-19 regulations and the increasing number of COVID-19 infections and deaths, attending church service is suspended until further notice.

Sunday, 19th September 2020

Good morning brethren. Just a reminder that from next Sunday, 27th September 2020 we will have church services at church from 09:00 to 10:00.

Our topic for today: How Determined Are You To Succeed?

In this message I want to talk about the importance of making a determined effort in everything that we are involved in, both spiritual and natural. Determination is a necessity in our walk with the Lord. We will not endure to the end without it.

You can have plenty of vision, insight and purpose, but without determination you will not get the job done. When your vision and purpose fail, your determination must kick in to keep you going in the midst of doubt and uncertainty.

Proverbs 4:23-27 Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you. Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil.

II. Determination Is An Important Part Of Our Spiritual Warfare.

1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be
strong.

Ephesians 6:13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that
you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all,
to stand.

The thing that we must realise is that the devil is making a
determined effort towards us and if he is more determined to
keep us from moving forward in God than we are, he will win.

1. The Example of Manasseh and the Canaanites.

God had given all of the tribes of Israel the command to go
forth into the Promised Land and to drive all of its inhabitants
out. He not only commanded them, but promised them that He
would help them.

Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good
courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your
God is with you wherever you go."

With this promise the children of Israel were to go forth
conquering all of the inhabitants of the Promised Land. We find
that this did not happen in all cases, because of the
determination of their enemies to continue to dwell in the land.

Joshua 17:12-13Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive
out the inhabitants of those cities, but the Canaanites were
determined to dwell in that land. And it happened, when the
children of Israel grew strong, that they put the Canaanites to
forced labour, but did not utterly drive them out.

The reason the children of Manasseh were not able to drive the
Canaanites completely out of the land was because they lacked
the determination to do so. The Canaanites were more
determined to stay than the Tribe of Manasseh was to drive
them out.

2. Through A Determined Effort, We Should Drive Out Our
Enemies.

How many of us give place to the devil, because we lack the
determination to completely drive him out of our lives? God has
given us the authority and the power to defeat the enemy.

Luke 10:19 "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on
serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy,
and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

We all have strongholds in our lives that the enemy is trying to
keep us holding on to with a determined effort. The thing that
we have to realise is that our determination must be more than
than that of the enemy, realizing that greater is He who is in us
than he who is in the world.

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome
them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the
world.

The enemy doesn't give us that easily. He is determined, so
therefore you must realise that it takes a determined effort to
defeat him. We are wrestling against principalities, against
powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against
spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:12-13 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in
the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having
done all, to stand.

Many Christians fail in many areas because they fail to make a
determined effort. Marriages, children, jobs, business, ministry,
bo***ge to sin, and prayer life are areas that the enemy wants
to continue to dwell in. Are you letting him, simply because he is
more determined than you are?

Do you have the inner fortitude and strength of character to
remain consistent, strong and diligent regardless of the odds or
the demands that are being placed upon you in these areas.

Without determination you will find yourselves being tossed
here and there and beaten to a pulp when the enemy comes
against you. When the pressure is on, you will find yourselves
reacting in a way that is contradictory to what you really believe.

1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the
devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may
devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same
sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

3. Use Determination in all that you do

- Determination is the inner fortitude and strength of character.
- It is being disciplined to remain consistent, strong and diligent
regardless of the odds or the demands.
- It is the act of deciding definitely and firmly, or coming to a
resolve.
- Determination is acting in faith when we temporarily lose sight
of where we are going.

Without determination we will find ourselves being tossed around and beaten to a pulp when the enemy comes against us. When the pressure is on we will find ourselves reacting in a way that is contradictory to what we believe. We must have the inner fortitude and strength of character to remain consistent, strong and diligent regardless of the odds or the demands.

God bless you all.

Good morning. I’m sure that we are all aware of the great improvement of COVID-19 management in S A. The infection rate is dropping, recovery increasing, death rate has dropped. Due to these statistics, which I keep monitoring daily, I am of the opinion that we can resume our Sunday services from Sunday 27th of this month. We will have today until the 26th to purchase all that is necessary to sanitize the church, chairs and ourselves. Social distancing will be a must.
For a start, the program will run, for exactly one hour, for the whole of October as follows:
09:00 - 09:10 - Worship and Opening prayer.
09:10 - 09:20 - Offering
09:20 - 09:30: Praise and Worship
09:30 - 09:50: Sermon
09:50 - 10:00: Prayer requests
10:00: We disperse.
I will be the MC for that month to make sure that we keep time. Regards Rev Nkwana Nyamane.

Sunday, 13th September 2020

Good morning brethren. Our message for today is “Step Out of Your Expectations” and will be reading from Philippians 3:13,14

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Introduction

Expectations are often formed by our failures and patterned by what we think is our just desert. Never expecting more than we deserve can lead to a mediocre life with little more to look forward to than what we think God wants us to have. But in fact God has not put such limitation on us and He fully expects us to move out from the bo***ge that we have placed ourselves in.

Most of us talk about our track record, in other words what we have achieved or not throughout our life. If we are always looking back and not ahead, we will begin to believe that what we have done in the past is the best we can do in the future. God is always leading us to expand our horizons and stretch out in faith for the impossible. Past failures and regrets are stored with our sins and that is in a place that is as far as the east is from the west, if we will let go of them.

1.Living in the now!

Christians have a tendency of always living in the past or looking toward some future event instead of living in the now. We are either worried about tomorrow's circumstances or trying to resurrect some dead memorial of the past, in any case we are missing what God has for us today! Our goal is set for now. We have been given the grace and power to change tomorrow by what we pray and believe today.

Paul says: “But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward the goal to win the prize…”

The point is this: why are we dragging the past into our future, and why do we allow past events to form our present expectations?

Unforgiveness, bitterness, unresolved issues, failure and regret are all in the past and there is nothing we can do about them but forgive, forget and move on into the grace and mercy of God. If we continue to drag this dead body of remorse along with us on the path of life it will eventually destroy us. Jesus died and rose again not only to forgive all of our sins: past, present and future, but also said that if we give our life to Him we will become "New Creations in Christ."

Metamorphoses means to change a physical form and structure or substance by supernatural means. In other words, changing from a worm to a butterfly is the same transition that we make when we give our life to Jesus, old things pass away, and all things become new! Would you rather remain a worm and just be content to crawl through life or would you take a step of faith and soar with eagles, the choice is yours for the asking.

2.Step out of the boat.

In the midst of a storm Jesus came walking on water to reach His disciples huddled together in a fishing boat. At first they were terrified thinking He was a ghost but then they recognized Him and He said to Peter, "Come!" Everyone knows that it is physically impossible to walk on water, and yet Peter obeyed the voice of Jesus and stepped out of the boat and walked on water by faith until he took his eyes off the Lord and saw the waves, and his own understanding told him that walking on water was impossible. He had taken a step of faith by stepping out of his comfort zone.

There is no end to the opportunities that God has given us if we will forget the past and take hold of that which does not yet exist. If we will expect the impossible and reach for the unexpected we will experience great miracles of grace and favour. We have to step out of our expectations.

3.Pressing for the prize!

Like a relay runner stretching for the finish line to win the race so we too should press on into the perfect and complete will and destiny for our lives. God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness and expects us to live by faith, not as the world lives, but as people from a different world. Our citizenship is in heaven and we are just passing through as ambassadors of grace destined to change the landscape of this planet with supernatural power!

So what are you waiting for? If you are tired of dragging the past behind you, shake off the dust of failure and regret and repent and receive God's forgiveness. His blood will wash you white as snow and no matter what you have done, even though man may not forget, God will. Forgive those that have hurt you and release them into God's hands. It’s not worth the torment and anguish to hold someone responsible for something you can't change. Allow God to break the chains of guilt and shame and become the new creation that He wants you to be.

Remember, there is no past, and there is not yet a future – Only today. Today is the time to change from a worm to a butterfly, renew your mind with the word of God, renew your vow to Him and renew your relationship with others, even those that hurt you, and you will experience the power and grace of a loving God begin to flow once again into your expectations.

In closing, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. (shall direct your path)” Psalms 3:5-6

God bless you all.
