We had a very special and powerful time together this Saturday! 💥 We were encouraged to build wisely on Jesus, our firm foundation, especially in preparation for life's storms. There will always be storms in this life. These moments test and strengthen our faith. 🙏🏼💪🏼 Plus, our fellowship always grows stronger—and the delicious food is a sweet bonus! 🥰🌹

We had an amazing time at our ladies' gathering this Saturday! 💕 We shared laughs, delicious food, tears (the good ones 😉) and deep connections. Huge thanks to all who served on this and a special thanks to Tumi from Godfirst Thembisa for leading us through a powerful reflection on Matthew 13. The next part we will focus on from 1 Corinthians 13:4 is on envy. In this next verse above, it puts envy with selfish ambition. Selfish ambition can drive envy. Envy causes you to want something that's not yours, to use your imagination to explore how it would feel and you meditate on it. It deeply impacts you. You also can't be thankful for all you have if you live in this state. Envy is so opposite to the nature of Jesus. He was so fulfilled in the Father and focussed on loving others. Thankfully we have a great high priest who understands our weaknesses. He was tempted just as we are but without sin. He can give us grace instead.😅

Lord, please help us to lay down our selfish ambition and envy. May your grace help us to be content with what you've given us and to obey you in every step going forward.🙏🏼🌷

Our focus is on kindness today. It says in Romans 2 that it's His kindness that leads us to repentance. Each time He is working in our life, He is proactively showing us His kindness.🥰He doesn't have to do this for us. The question is, are we kind to those around us? Are we kind to those in our spiritual family or are we unkind? Being kind is an action towards others and this verse associates kindness with a tender heart and forgiveness. This means that being kind won't always be easy. We can choose to be harsh, hard-hearted and unforgiving when we're hurt. Showing kindness is a powerful way to show the world that we are His disciples.

Jesus, thank you for your kindness towards us mere mortals. Forgive us where we've been unkind. Please help us and show us how to be kindhearted. Please soften our hearts and help us to forgive those who hurt us.🙏🏼

In the next few days we will hone in on yesterdays verse (1 Corinthians 13:4). Todays focus is on patience. This verse in Proverbs shows us that patience carries massive significance in our lives. This is not something to avoid or just glance over. The Lord also tells us in Isaiah that His ways and thoughts are not ours, His ways are much higher. This is a gentle reminder that we can't be like Him without being connected to Him. This is also a huge relief for us.😅❤️

Father, please help us today and give us Your grace in our time of need. When we are tempted to have a short fuse, please help us to pause and remember who You are and that we are Yours. Empower us to be slow to anger and to rule our spirit in these moments.🙏🏼

Love is not a feeling. Our feelings are fickle but love is an action of choice. We choose to follow Jesus in the small and mundane moments of life. Today, let's choose to follow Jesus in Love. First meditate on His patient and kind love towards you, then receive His love and lastly, when the moment arises, abide in His love and choose to give those around you patience and kindness. We can't give what we don't have, and apart from Jesus, we can do nothing.❤️

Jesus, please help us to receive your patient and kind love today and to give it when our feelings want it another way.🙏🏼

We had our last get together this month and it was fabulous! 🥰 We felt the wonderful presence of God as Mesuli led us in worship. Rob and Andrew came to serve us by sharing the heart of God to us. We were encouraged to regularly experience the Lord's goodness, not just hear about it but to encounter it. We were also reminded that He loves us so deeply, not just on the good days but on the bad days too. We get to live a life each day knowing this incredible and life transforming truth. David and Drikus blessed us with such special prayers, it was deeply touching. 😭 We ended the day off with a feast of snacks, deep connections and just some good ole fun at the photo booth. What a beautiful day to remember❣

As we are coming to the end of 2023 and going into 2024, let's hold our heads up high, knowing that we are His. We get to see and taste of His goodness as we approach Him and we have His banner over us which is love.😍 We are so thankful for all He has taught us this year and we look forward to many more next year.🙏🏼🥳

For those who are hungry to find meaning in their life.
For all who are left wanting by the burdens of their strive.
Come and taste of the Lord, let Him fill you with His peace. Learn to trust Him and your hunger pains will cease.
Come and sip from the well, where eternal life flows. His kindness will pour forth as in your heart He grows.
Come and see that He is good, for bountiful is His grace, tender mercies He has stored await your heart's embrace.
Come those who are hungry, those who are wanting to come and taste His goodness, experience all He has for you!

For those who are hungry, to find meaning in their life.
For all who are left wanting by the burdens of their strive.
