In his book Let the Nations Be Glad!, John Piper reframes the way we understand Christian missions. He asserts that the ultimate purpose of the Church is not missions — it is worship. Missions is not the final goal; it is a means to an end. The end goal is that all nations, tribes, and tongues worship the one true God. The reason missions exist is because there are still people and places on earth where God is not yet worshipped. Therefore, the task of missions is to call the nations into the joy of worshipping God.

Piper writes:

"Missions exists because worship doesn't."
"Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man."

This quote reminds us that worship is the heartbeat of heaven and the destination of every mission. When we pour out our love in The Art of Worship, open up our souls in Matters of the Heart, and surrender everything in Telling It All to Jesus, we are aligning ourselves with God’s ultimate desire — to be worshipped by all creation.
