Ordinary people, serving an extra-ordinary God. RLC Culture
Every organization has a culture which is made up of the values, guiding beliefs, understandings and ways of thinking of the people leading the organization. Some of our values and beliefs (culture) are:
Honour: to give something value. We believe every person has value and every person is powerful. To honour each other is to treat each
other with dignity and to call out the best in each other. Our culture is one in which we believe in people; it is a place where people are built up and encouraged to be all that God has created them to be. The Gospel:
We believe the gospel is very good news and that God is in a good mood (Happy God)
God loves and accepts you as you are and has great plans for your life
Salvation is free
Your past, present and future sins have been forgiven
Right living comes through right believing
Righteousness is a gift
Encounter changes people:
We believe that encounters with God change people. Therefore, we seek to have time in God’s Presence both personally and in our meetings together and we seek to guide people into an encounter with Jesus, gently. These are done through corporate worship (our desire is to go deep in worship) and through the gifts applied and released to people around us.
2 major tools Father has given us to build powerful people and lead into encounter are prophecy and healing:
Prophecy – is easy, is for everyone, creates identity, calls out the gold in people, always strengthens, always encourages, always comforts.
1 Corinthians 14:3 NIV: 3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. Healing – Jesus provided healing at the cross, as much as He provided forgiveness
Jesus desires to heal everyone, He healed all who were sick. He healed every kind of sickness and disease. Isaiah 53:4-5 NIV: 4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
1 Peter 2:24 NIV: 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
Leadership:
Heavens’ government is relational
Good leaders inspire, not rule
Jesus is our example of a great leader, loving, inspiring, presenting the truth, focused on the vision, steadfast, never condemning, always building up and restoring dignity
Churches need good leaders
We work as a team
Building Church:
Jesus is the head of the church
Colossians 1:18 NIV:18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. Except the Lord builds the house
Psalm 127:1 NIV: 1 Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. We are God’s fellow workers
1 Corinthians 3:9 NIV:9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. We are workers together with Him
2 Corinthians 6:1 KJV: 6 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
