DON’T BE RIGID!
(Relate to God with Your Emotions)

📖TO THE BIBLE Psalm 2:4 RSV
“He who sits in the heavens laughs…”

▶️LET’S TALK
At various times, the Lord Jesus expressed His emotions. At Lazarus’ grave, He wept. At another time, He laughed and danced in the Spirit (Luke 10:21). Once, He got so angry that He whipped the money-changers, and drove them out of the temple (Matthew 21:10-14). The Lord Jesus said to Philip, “...Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking to see him?” (John 14:9 TLB). In other words, He’s the perfect reflection of the Father. This shows us the kind of person God is – He has emotions.

This consciousness should let you know that you should relate with God as one who feels, not as a computer. God called David a man after His own heart (Acts 13:22), because David was so passionate about Him. When the ark of the covenant was being returned into Israel, he danced and praised so much before the Lord that his wife became offended at him (2 Samuel 6:20-22). Yet, he didn’t care; all he cared about was pleasing God and expressing his appreciation.

When you worship and pray, do it with your emotions; talk to God as you would to someone who is actually listening to you. Some people are just too rigid with God! They sing “I love you Lord” without showing any emotion whatsoever. There’s nothing wrong with showing your emotions in your communication with God. Worship God with your heart and emotions. Put yourself into your praise. You’ll soon discover the glorious blessing that comes from such intimacy with God.

IT’S AN INSIDE FORCE!
(“Eat” God’s Word And be Propelled to Action)

📖TO THE BIBLE : Psalm 119:103-105
“ How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.””

LET’S TALK⏩
Becky loved good food, exercise, and also loved cooking too: She would ensure that she got a balanced diet—nourished with the right quantity of carbs, vitamins, minerals, fats and oil etc. as well as fruits and veggies daily. As a result, she grew normally with radiant-looking skin, and she always did better at school than her peers who fed on junk food mostly.

Have you ever heard the term “You’re what you eat?” This means that whatever you feed on goes into your body, and becomes a part of your system. In other words, when you eat physical food, it goes into your system, becomes one with your body and does its work, building it and causing growth and maintenance. It’s the same thing with God’s Word in your spirit.

When you “eat” the Word, through study and meditation, the Word goes into your system and becomes one with your spirit! You become the “Word” that you eat. That “Word” becomes an inside force—an energy—that propels you to act accordingly. The Word of God wasn’t given to us just to reveal some things to us about God; the Word of God was given to us to feed on and live by.

Some people only believe the Word; but “believing” isn’t enough; you believe and then act accordingly! You haven’t really believed the Word if you weren’t compelled to act accordingly, because when you believe, you’re compelled to action. We believe to do! In the Old Testament, the Word was to them an outside force. In the New Testament, it’s an inside force. The Word lives in us today; we’re born of the Word, and thus one with the Word. The Word in you will regulate your thoughts and actions, and cause you to walk in righteousness.

▶️LET’S TALK
Some people complain about situations they can do something about. Such people, for instance, come to church on a Sunday morning, and whine about how untidy the whole place is, how dirty the seats are, and so on. A truly responsible person, on the other hand, notices the place untidy and thinks, “This is a perfect opportunity for me to help out,” and then plans to be there early the following week to help clean and tidy the place. That’s taking responsibility.

You become responsible by looking out for a need and reaching out to meet that need. That in itself is a fundamental principle of success. Learn to be responsible in church, at home, and in school. Have the consciousness that if you don’t do what ought to be done, no one might. Have the ability to respond when there’s a need; that’s what responsibility is—response-ability!

While you’re living with your parents, relatives, friends, or guardians, make up your mind that your impact would be felt. If you can’t be available to do some of the chores in the home, find another way to make your impact felt. Learn to be responsible; responsible people are noble people.

LET’S TALK⏩
Would it surprise you to know that there are people in prison today who are joyful and more at peace than many who are free and have all the nice things the heart can desire? That’s because joy isn’t dependent on your surroundings and circumstances; it’s in your spirit. This is what the apostles had, such that even when they didn’t have life’s material comforts, they remained enthusiastic about the gospel. When they were oppressed, persecuted, and imprisoned for preaching Jesus, they were full of joy. So, joy and satisfaction aren’t in material things, but from your spirit.

There’s more to life than the world’s symbols of prosperity. True prosperity is about the triumph of God’s Word in your life. It’s having God’s grace upon your life, which causes everything you’re involved with to succeed. It’s having the totality of God’s blessings and grace, and the enablement to impart the same to others also. And this brings with it happiness, peace, and fulfilment.

How prosperous do you want to be? How glorious do you want your life to be? If you’d meditate on the Word, you’ll have all-around prosperity and true satisfaction! You’ll be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit all year round! Your leaves will not wither, and whatsoever you do shall prosper. Make the Word your delight and meditation, and your life will be full of glory.

2 Corinthians 2:15-16 TLB “As far as God is concerned there is a sweet, wholesome fragrance in our lives. It is the fragrance of Christ within us, an aroma to both the saved and the unsaved all around us…we are a life-giving perfume….”

LET'S TALK ⏩
The Oxford English Dictionary defines the word ‘fresh’ as ‘not stale, musty, or faded’ or ‘pure, untainted, refreshing.’ This gives an impression of health rather than luxury. We all require certain things to be fresh. We need fresh air and water daily. It’s amazing the wonderful effects fresh air and clean water have on us. We need to wear fresh clothes and keep our homes and surroundings clean and fresh.

Acts 3:19 KJV says “…the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” Just like the Lord, your presence in a place ought to bring refreshing; it ought to clean up and gladden the hearts of people around with the sweetness and grace of God. It ought to uplift and strengthen the weak. This is why you must maintain a fresh spirit daily.

As you pray every day, lifting up holy hands in worship, you create an atmosphere that’s full of the presence of God. Your sacrifice goes up to Him as sweet-smelling incense. You stay fresh in God’s presence that way. Don’t pollute your mind by digesting wrong materials or entertaining worldly friends who have nothing to offer but things that corrupt the human soul. Stay fresh in your spirit so God’s Word can affect you, and you in turn can affect your world for Jesus!

John 2:11
“This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.”

▶️LET’S TALK
“That meeting was glorious,” is something we say all the time after a church service or meeting. But have you ever asked yourself what exactly made the meeting glorious? And what’s glory, anyway?

Well, glory is that which inspires, produces or causes honour. If you give honour, admiration, and respect to someone because of something that happened, that thing had glory, because it inspired you to honour that person. We can say a meeting was glorious because we were inspired to honour, reverence, praise, and worship the Lord; thus, revealing the glory of His Kingdom.

When Jesus turned water to wine and the disciples saw it, they were stunned, and began to trust, honour, and revere Him (John 2:11). We’ve become a part of the glory—the splendour and beauty—in God’s Kingdom, where sickness, defeat, failure and death are alien.

Think about the children of Israel and the promises God made to them. He told them they’d never be defeated by their adversaries. He said to them, “I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26). Then, in Psalm 91:16 He told them, “You will live a long life and see my saving power” (CEV). These and several other blessings in the Old Testament were addressed to the children of Israel.

Now, imagine the glory we’ve been called into as new creations, living in the Kingdom of God’s dear Son! The Bible says we obtained a better covenant, established upon better promises (Hebrews 8:6). Think about that! The glory of the New Testament, of our spiritual Kingdom, is the more excellent glory; it supersedes what the children of Israel experienced (2 Corinthians 3:10-11). Hallelujah!

HAVE A DAILY WORD-BATH
(Cleanse Yourself With God’s Word)

TO THE BIBLE John 15:3
“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.”

LET'S TALK ⏩
Having your bath daily is necessary, even when you don’t feel the need to. You don’t have to look, smell, or feel dirty before you bathe yourself. We’re always in contact with particles and germs in the air around us we don’t see with the unaided eye. They get on our bodies without invitation, make us dirty as they accumulate, and become harmful to our bodies if left unremoved. So, you take a bath to wash them off your body, and then you’re clean and fresh again. Now, it’s the same thing spiritually!

You may not have done or said anything wrong, but doubt, fear and unbelief rub off on you as you relate with other people and the world around you. This is why you need to take a Word bath as often as necessary. Sometimes when I counsel people, they voice unbelief as they relate their problems. So I go back into my office and spend some time studying and declaring the Word to cleanse myself of all the negativity I’ve heard.

Ephesians 5:26-27 says that Christ sanctifies and cleanses the Church “…with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” This means the Lord Jesus bathes us with His Word! Every time you read and meditate on the scriptures, you’re taking a bath! You’re being purified spiritually by God’s Word. Spend time with the Word every morning and before you go to bed at night. This will not only keep you clean and fresh in your spirit and your mind, but it’ll cause you to flourish in every area of your life.

I’m cleansed through the purifying and sanctifying power of God’s Word. I’m not conformed to the world but I’m continually changed into the image of the glory that I see in the Word of God, from glory to glory, by the Spirit of God.

(You Won’t Be Swallowed Up)

📖TO THE BIBLE : Psalm 124:1-3 TLB
“If the Lord had not been on our side (let all Israel admit it), if the Lord had not been on our side, we would have been swallowed alive by our enemies, destroyed by their anger.”

LET'S TALK ⏭
The Lord can solve whatever challenges you may be facing right now, no matter how difficult they seem. Maybe you’re experiencing some difficulty with your studies, and you feel overwhelmed. Or perhaps, you’re concerned about that nagging situation in your family, and you don’t know what to do. It may even seem as though the devil has you drowning in the mire of a terrible habit. Don’t despair! The Lord is with you to bring you out of that trouble.

The Bible says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19). All you have to do is put your trust in Him. Don’t give up. God has made a way of escape for you, and you’re coming out on top of that situation.

Ordinarily, problems could swallow you, but God’s presence with you makes that impossible. God says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you” (Isaiah 43:2). This is God’s solemn vow to you.

This should give you great confidence and assurance that He’ll never allow anyone or anything to swallow you up (Psalm 124:6). He’s strong and on your side to help you and bring you out today.

*EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT*

*For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! (1 Corinthians 9:16).*

The Gospel is for everybody. When it comes to our kingdom and our kingdom work, every individual is important to God. He’s not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is potent; His grace, love and mercy have been poured out on all men for their salvation. The Bible says the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation for all men—regardless of their status, background or ethnicity.

God has purposed to save and use anybody—any one of us—for His glory. None of us is too small or too lowly. For example, in 2 Kings 5, we read about Naaman, a commander of the Army of the King of Syria, a great man held in the highest esteem, a mighty man of valour, but he was a l***r. On a certain day, while the Syrian troops raided Israel, they captured a girl, and she became a servant to Naaman’s wife.

Sometime later, this little Israelite maid witnessed to Naaman (2 Kings 5:3), and not only did Naaman get healed of his leprosy through the Prophet Elisha, this army general got converted and became a worshipper of the Lord, God of Israel. I’ve heard similar testimonies of how army generals were led to Christ, maybe by their drivers or some domestic staff. There’s no one too great to be led into salvation.

Perhaps you’re a hairdresser or a makeup artist, and those who request your services are celebrities, the wealthy and influential of the society; go ahead and lead them to Christ. You must realize that your earthly job, business, education or profession is your opportunity and vehicle for transporting the Gospel. If you get on transit, be it in a bus, a train or on the plane, witness to your co-passengers; tell them about Jesus.

Never let an opportunity pass by that you’ve not utilized for the Gospel. This is what the Lord has set us on course for; so, be bold and fearless. Preach the Gospel to anybody and everybody.

*Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for counting me faithful to commit the ministry of reconciliation to my hands. My passion is to do your will by ministering the Gospel to everyone in my world and those in the regions beyond, working together with you to establish your Kingdom in the earth and in the hearts of men, in Jesus’ Name. TRANSMIT GOOD THOUGHTS
(Control The Thought-Signals From Your Mind)

📖TO THE BIBLE : Philippians 4:8 MSG “Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.”

LET'S TALK ⏭
Has it ever happened that while you were thinking about someone, that person suddenly showed up, or called you, or sent you a message? Or maybe you were thinking about a particular thing, and, even though you hadn’t said anything about it to anyone, someone near you started thinking the same thing and actually voiced that thought? Science calls it telepathy, but if you understand the spirituality behind the science, you’ll become ever more careful about the thoughts you allow.

Your thoughts transmit signals, and those signals can be received by people and things connected to you. That’s why you shouldn’t allow just any thought in your mind because those thoughts can be transmitted. We all transmit thoughts, and sometimes, without realising it, we transmit negative thoughts into our environment that eventually affect us. For example, your room has thoughts from you. The walls, furniture, clothing, etc., in your room have memory and can receive and retain information from you; and whatever they get from you can remain in them.

So, you’ve got to be careful with the kinds of thoughts you let run through your mind, so you don’t make something happen that you don’t want.

When negative thoughts of discomfort, frustration, depression, anger, lack, etc. come to you, refuse them! Utter words of faith, gratitude, and praise to the Lord instead. Think positive, happy, and excellent thoughts only, and use your mind to channel good things in your direction, and prevent the wrong things from happening.

Dear Father, I thank you for your Word that has the ability to produce your thoughts in me—thoughts of abundance, strength, victory, success, faith and the good life. CARRY YOUR OWN ATMOSPHERE
(You’re Born Into God’s Glory)

📖TO THE BIBLE : Exodus 13:21-22
“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.”

LET'S TALK⏭
When the children of Israel came out of Egypt, they carried their own atmosphere with them. As they journeyed in the wilderness for forty years, the desert heat didn’t scorch them by day, nor did its bitter cold freeze them to death at night. That was because a pillar of cloud was present during the day to keep the heat away, and they were canopied by a pillar of fire at night that kept them warm. How extraordinary!

The Holy Spirit made this possible for them, and He does the same for us today. When you were born again, you were born into God’s glory, God’s spiritual cloud. You live there now. The Bible says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ…” (2 Corinthians 5:17); that’s the place and environment of glory! Christ is a person, but He’s also a place. In Him (Christ), you’ve arrived; you’re at home!

When you’re conscious of this atmosphere of glory and you carry it with you everywhere, your joy and satisfaction overflow. When you face challenges, others can’t help but wonder how you go through unscathed.

They’re dazzled by how you could be happy, at peace, joyful and exuberant with praise to the Lord amid adversity. It’s because you’re “in Christ”; it’s a peculiar environment, where your joy is independent of circumstances. Glory to God!
