Facebook now offers to put a little thought bubble next to my profile picture and allows me to caption the pic using the thought bubble. This pic was made at Asbury Bible Camp, so it would have been natural for me to be thinking about Lowell Cookies. Most CAMPERS never knew about Lowell Cookies. The staff tried to keep them a secret. Lowell Lampley made these chocolate chip cookies that could best be described as "Heaven in circular form." :-) They were usually sent to camp in a white tupperware tub with a blue lid. The staff kept them hidden in the kitchen, most often in an effort to keep them hidden from each other. Those of us who were on staff for years had a knack for being able to locate the tub during that "after evening chapel" time that we spent unwinding in the dining hall. I have tried making Lowell Cookies at home, using Lowell's recipe that was published in the Asbury Church Cookbook, but they're just not the same. I suspect that when Lowell submitted that recipe to be included in the cookbook, that he deliberately left out one of the ingredients, and I genuinely believe that the secret ingredient that Lowell put into those cookies was LOVE.
