Mother's Day is this Sunday, and with it can come a lot of mixed feelings. Feelings of excitement, grief, anticipation, or dread.

As a spouse, use this upcoming day to pray over your wife's life. Pray for her pain, her joy. Pray for her healing, and her growth.

The blog below offers 5 practical ways you can contend to the Lord on your wife's behalf.

Mother’s Day is a time to reflect on and honor moms. For some women, it’s a much-anticipated day full of happy memories and gratitude. But for others, it’s a day reminiscent of failure, pain, and loss. How can you, as a husband, pray for your wife on Mother’s Day? What can you do to

Many Christian couples believe in the power of prayer, but far fewer actually pray together. Brad and Heidi Mitchell, founders of Build Your Marriage ministry, share with Dr. Tim Clinton that only 5% of couples do. As they unpack their new book, Build Your Marriage with Prayer—a practical resource that guides couples through daily prayer topics—they share how personal and shared prayer restored their own marriage in the aftermath of betrayal. Not only does praying together significantly reduce the risk of divorce, but it also aligns individual hearts with God’s will and brings lasting unity to a relationship.

Last Sunday, we were invited to sit in on a small group in our church to attend their kick off of studying through our newest book, Build Your Marriage with Prayer.

We were inspired by their desire to strengthen one another’s marriage through prayer. Joining together for discussion brings an added layer of accountability. Because of this, we wrote a discussion guide for small groups.

Comment “Guide” below and we will direct message you a copy!

“Church is optional."

"If church fits in our schedule, if it’s convenient, and we feel like going—-we will try to get to church.”

While couples may not actually say those words, their actions and choices reveal their values. This seems to be the growing belief held by couples and families today.

The data backs this up. The number of Americans who identify themselves as regular church-goers equals about 40% of the population. But on any given Sunday, the number of Americans who actually attend church is closer to 17.7%.

Make a mutual declaration to re-prioritize your attendance at church. Prepare your hearts on Saturday to show up expectantly on Sunday—ready to give God your best and receive whatever He may have for you. Grow together spiritually as you build your marriage.

If you’ve been married a while, you know—
it’s the little things that matter most.

Keeping your word. Guarding your heart. Showing up when it’s hard.
That’s the kind of integrity that strengthens a marriage over time.
