Day 4! We tried something new this year! We added a sewing class to teach the ladies of Horeb Church how to make our ministry bags. The bags were originally designed by Carrie Johnson and she was thrilled to share her creation. The ladies of the Horeb Church were excited to be our first students. Thank you to Jean Bundy for making our preparations for the class. She created instructions with pictures and precut 20 kits. With the assistance of Celia Izaguirre interpreting, our first attempt at teaching a sewing class was a huge success. We ended the class with 4 1/2 completed bags and 15 ladies of the church ready to return another day to make their own bag.

Day three!! Our mission work led us to San Cristobal, a community we have been serving for several years. It was a pleasure to reconnect with our christian family there. As the medical clinic was underway, the remainder of the team visited local homes to share the gospel and God's blessings with families identified by the local church. This year, the translation provided by Tony Villalobos and Ruth Sackett was vital in facilitating these visits. Tragically, the community of San Cristobal experienced a devastating event on the day of our visit. We ask you to join us in prayer for this community, trusting that God knows their needs.

Our mission work entered its second day with a full day of activities ahead. We revisited the children's mission at Chuipachec. Horeb Church's young adults have been engaged for nine years at this location with the local children. Under the leadership of Dr. Brent Brown, we set up our medical clinic for the day. This year, Dr. Charlie Cottle and his wife Patti joined us in fulfilling the needs of the clinic. Pharmacist Kathryn Tennell headed up our pharmacy with the assistance of Patti. Despite a lower than normal clinic turnout, 63% of those who came accepted Christ as their savior. Meanwhile, the rest of the team handed out compassion bags in the morning and ran VBS for the local kids in the afternoon. For lunch, the ladies of Horeb Church served us a delicious spaghetti meal. While passing out the mission bags, our team witnessed two more professions of faith in Jesus.

First full day! After a brief delay, we have learned that flexibility is key on mission, we purchased our mission supplies and traveled to our first mission base for a few days. After dinner at our hotel, we readied our supplies for the following day's activities.
