Spot on. The historical irony is thick there. Traditionalists often argue that Latin is a "sacred" or "eternal" language that preserves the Mass from the "profanity" of modern speech, but the very existence of the Latin Mass is the result of a massive vernacular "update."
If the Church in the 4th century had been as "traditionalist" as some are today, they would have insisted on staying with Koine Greek forever, arguing that Latin was too "common" or "street" for the mysteries of the altar.

* The "Static" Argument: Traditionalists argue that because Latin is now dead/frozen, it acts as a "safety deposit box" for doctrine—it can't be mistranslated or "modernized" into trendy slang.
* The "Sacred Silence" vs. "Participation": The switch to Vulgar Latin was meant to help people understand. Modern critics of the TLM argue that since nobody speaks Vulgar Latin anymore, the language has failed its original "vulgar" purpose.
* Aesthetics vs. Utility: Many love the TLM for the smells and bells and the "otherworldly" feel of a language they don't understand, which is the exact opposite of why St. Jerome translated the Bible into the Vulgate in the first place.

Essentially, the Vulgate/TLM started as a bridge to the people, but over 1,600 years, it turned into a wall.

Luther hated the Catholic Tradition so much that he left the Church. SSPX loves the Tradition so much and left the Church. Going to the Extreme always ends up neglecting everything.

O glorious Saints Peter and Paul, chosen by Christ to be pillars of His Church, pray for us. Through your unwavering faith, courageous witness, and faithful service, you proclaimed the Gospel to the ends of the earth and remained steadfast even unto martyrdom.

Obtain for us the grace to love Christ above all things, to remain faithful to His Church, and to live as true disciples in our daily lives. Strengthen us in times of trial, deepen our hope, and inspire us to proclaim the Gospel with humility and courage.

May your prayers lead us ever closer to the Lord, that we may one day share with you the joy of His heavenly Kingdom.

O holy Apostles, Peter and Paul, I choose you this day and forever to be my special patrons and advocates; thee, Saint Peter, Prince of the Apostles, because thou art the Rock, upon which Almighty God hath built His Church; thee, Saint Paul, because thou wast fore-chosen by God as the Vessel of election and the Preacher of truth in the whole world.
