I’ve carried a thought for a couple days regarding how people use God‘s powerful word against other people. The word of God is alive and sharper than a two edged sword. However, I have seen many people use it as a dagger to wound others with. Be careful how you use God‘s word because ultimately we will give an account before Him of how we handle it.
A dagger is a double-edged knife with a sharp, pointed blade designed primarily for stabbing and thrusting.
God’s Word is intended to separate the flesh (soul) and our spirit to make us stronger, better Christians. To improve our walk with the Lord. The dagger actually does so much harm as it’s purpose is very different. Noticed that it also has two sides so there is a hint of similarity. The difference is one is to improve your life by cutting away the things that don’t belong there which would be the sword of the spirit, which is God‘s word. The dagger, however is intended to just stab you and leave you where you are. One brings life, the other kills.
Choose wisely how you apply the Word of God.
Hebrews 4:12-13
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”
