Following Jesus does not mean we will never face dark seasons. There will still be valleys to walk through, seasons of waiting, unanswered questions, and days when the road ahead is hidden from the view. Yet even in the darkest moments, His presence means darkness never has the final word.

Just as God sustained His people in the wilderness with daily manna, He still meets His children with daily grace, daily strength, and daily hope. He does not always show us the whole journey, but He faithfully gives what we need for today.

So if your path feels dark right now, take heart. You may not see the end of the tunnel yet, but you can trust the One who walks with you through it.

Who would have thought that the God of all creation would see my failures and mess as a masterpiece?

Serving God for a long time made me so familiar with Him. I became accustomed to seeing good outcomes from the work I was doing for Him.

Because of that, I developed a wrong view of who God is. I began to think that He was with me only when the results of my workโ€”or my lifeโ€”were great and filled with joy. And when things went the other way, I felt as though He was no longer with me.

But God showed me something different.

He showed me that even in my failures and disappointments, even when the work of my hands did not turn out the way I had envisioned, He still loves me and sees me as precious in His sight.

Through Isaiah 43:1โ€“7, He reminded me that He is my Creatorโ€”the God who formed me and knows me completely.

He also reminded me that He has redeemed me. He doesn't just own me once; He owns me twice.

God reminded me that my identity is not rooted in who I am or in what I do, but in who He is.

He showed me what a good Father does when His child makes a mess. He doesn't simply see the mess; He sees the child He loves. He sees a work of artโ€”a masterpiece still being formed by His hands.

As Ginny Owens writes in Singing in the Dark, โ€œI learned that my heart sings only when Iโ€™m not trying to forge this path on my own. When Iโ€™m holding tightly to the hand of my Father, listening to His voice for guidance.โ€ The same is true for me.

I am not defined by the work of my hands.

I am defined by His saving grace.

My worth is not measured by my success, but by the Savior who redeemed me.

Have you ever wondered why we keep choosing what we want instead of trusting what God says?

God, in His love, is always guiding us. He teaches us. He lights the way. He has already shown us where we need to go. And yetโ€ฆ here we are, still running away from it.

Maybe you're afraid of what might happen.

Maybe you're afraid of change.

Maybe you're afraid that you can't do it.

Maybe you're afraid of everything.

Maybe you're afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone.

And that's okay.
Those feelings are valid.

But my dear friendโ€ฆ can we take a moment to remember that Jesus is always with us?

He is right beside you, every single day.

He will walk with you through everything, every step of the way.

Sometimes, in the middle of life's chaos, we just forget that He never leaves.

So let this be a gentle reminder:
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." โ€” Joshua 1:9

Jesus will never place you on a path you cannot get through.

He puts you there because He believes in you.

He knows that you can, even when you don't feel like you can.

You are never alone. ๐Ÿค

I aspire to be the kind of person who takes one step closer to God rather than one step closer to my own wants.

I grew up believing that if you want something, you work hard for it and give your best to achieve it.

But as I got older, I realized that even if you do your best, if something is not meant for you, it will never truly be yours.

The dream.
The job.
The role.
The opportunity.
Even the person.

I remember a pastor once said, โ€œThe enemy of Godโ€™s best is often good things.โ€

And I donโ€™t want to spend my life striving so hard for what is merely good when I can choose to be still and trust my Heavenly Father to give me His bestโ€”in His perfect timing.

Obedience sometimes looks like walking away from something you once prayed for because Godโ€™s peace is no longer there.

My worth is not measured by the opportunities I receive,
the doors that open for me,
or the people who choose me.

Because God will never withhold something good from me if it is truly meant to lead me closer to Him. (Psalm 84:11)

And maybe youโ€™re reading this on the first day of the month, and this is your reminder that every ending carries the promise of a new beginning. There is hope.

If, for the past months, youโ€™ve been carrying the weight of walking away from things that defile you,
hurt you,
or break you,
maybe now is the time to stop carrying it alone.

God has already prepared what we are praying for. What He wants from us is to trust His plan and His timing.

And as we wait and walk away, may we learn to no longer desire things that require us to compromise our peace, our convictions, or our closeness with God.

Because everything that is from God will always bring glory to Him.

โ€œThen Moses said to Him, โ€˜If Your Presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here.โ€™โ€ (Exodus 33:15)

So, Lord, if Your presence is not here, teach me how to walk away and run to You.

How can we keep loving even when it costs us something?

Loving is easy whenโ€ฆ
โ€ข Itโ€™s convenient.
โ€ข Itโ€™s appreciated.
โ€ข Itโ€™s reciprocated.
โ€ข It benefits us.

But real love was never meant to depend on comfort or convenience.

Love continues even when it becomes difficult, uncomfortable, or sacrificial.

So what happens when loving people no longer feels easy? Do we stop loving just because it hurts?

โ€œLive a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.โ€

โ€ญโ€ญEphesiansโ€ฌ โ€ญ5โ€ฌ:โ€ญ2โ€ฌ โ€ญNLTโ€ฌโ€ฌ

Jesus lovedโ€ฆ
โ€ข Unconditionally
โ€ข Sacrificially
โ€ข Faithfully
โ€ข Patiently
โ€ข Forgivingly

And He still does.

The truth is, loving people can be painful. People may disappoint us, betray us, abandon us, misunderstand us, or take us for granted.

Because of that, the world teaches us to protect ourselves by withholding love.

โ€œIf I stop loving, I wonโ€™t get hurt.โ€

But Jesus experienced all of those things tooโ€”yet He still chose to love.

He loved us so deeply that He gave His life so we could be with Him.

That kind of love is not natural human strength. It comes from God.

We cannot pour out love consistently if we are disconnected from the One who is love. Trying to love people without receiving Godโ€™s love first is like pouring from an empty cupโ€”it will eventually leave us exhausted and burned out.

But when we allow God to love us, heal us, and fill us daily, His love begins to overflow through us.

We love because He first loved us.

Loving others is not just our effort for God. It is God loving people through us.

And the more connected we are to Jesus, the more His love flows into our heartsโ€”and out to others.

Whatever situation you may be in right now, may you keep talking to God.

โ€œWith all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,โ€
