Mass for Ash Wednesday 2026

Because Ash Wednesday falls during the celebration of the Vietnamese New Year, and with the permission of the Holy See, the celebration of Ash Wednesday has been transferred to Friday, February 20.

The English Mass with the imposition of ashes will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Cửa Bắc Church.

Please note that this day remains a day of penance: fasting and abstinence from meat are observed.

May God bless us as we begin our Lenten journey.

HOLY MASS FOR ASH WEDNESDAY AT CUA BAC CHURCH
(MARCH 5, 2025)
Mass in English (imposition of ashes during Mass): 17h30.

Notice: Fasting and abstinence are obligatory on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, the Friday before Easter for Catholics (except those who are of advance in age and have health condition). Observers must abstain from eating meat on the other Fridays during Lent. During the fast, observers may eat one full meal a day, or two smaller ones if they don't add up to a full meal.
