Calling all members and AMEs to join this as soon as possible after Sunday worship!
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EgS5A1MF7/

We are issuing an urgent call to every clergy person, officer, and member of the AME Church to stand with us in this critical moment. Join us this Sunday, May 3rd, at 6pm EST for our Freedom Summer Kickoff, a connectional effort to organize, mobilize, and protect our communities. As we experience the escalating assault on and erasure of our hard-fought rights, we cannot be silent or still.

Show up, speak up, and stand together as a Connectional church committed to justice and liberation. Our history has taught us that when the AME Church shows up, change becomes possible. Let us honor our legacy by responding with courage, clarity, and conviction as we begin this Freedom Summer.

Today was a historic day for Family of Faith and for African Methodism. Bishop Jeffrey Leath, Presiding Prelate of the 16th District, accompanied by Presiding Elder Uklyn Hendricks traveled by ferry to the island of St. Thomas, Capitol of USVI. This day will go down in history where a Bishop visited the island on business. As pastor of Family of Faith on St. Thomas, we gave Bishop and Elder a tour of our worship space, then we walked to the Community Center and playground where the church focuses it's outreach, and we ended their tour with lunch at G&D Seafood before returning them to the boat.
Bishop Leath got to see the charm of island living as well as be exposed to the joys and challenges of ministry here. We, the officers and members of Family of Faith AME Church praise God for bringing this historic occasion to fruition!
