Seventeen years ago, we established a sisterhood relationship with
Amancio Rodriguez Methodist Church in the Los Tunas District of Cuba.

Through this partnership, we've helped them purchase a small parsonage near the church and tear down their old building to construct a spacious worship center in its place.

We're grateful for this relationship and the chance to walk alongside our brothers and
sisters in faith, even through the miles between us.

What does it mean to believe that God has raised you up for a purpose?

In the first lesson of Methodist Roots, we explore the remarkable story of John Wesley's rescue from a childhood house fire and how that event shaped his understanding of God's providence. Wesley would later ask a defining question: "What may we reasonably believe to be God's design in raising up the people called Methodists?"
