Updates on Paxtyn 8/22/26
Paxtyn still has not fully woken up.
They did keep Paxtyn in the ICU again last night, and the neurosurgeon recommended for her to stay in ICU care again tonight. Possibly with talks of moving her tomorrow to the Neuro unit floor.
Paxtyn spiked a fever of 101.4 through the night so they had to run labs, cultures and get an x-ray of her chest.
Her heart rate was spiking up so much and ultimately hitting in the low 200s.
Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy was in today. As they started working with her, her heart rate staryrd to come down. They also seemed to have found a very comfortable spot that Paxtyn stayed calmed down and she settled into. Her heart rate did go down for alittle while.
They say she is experiencing neurostorming and that is what is causing her body agitation and aggravation and that this is what is causing her vitals and heart rate to keep spiking
Paxtyn did finally have bowel movements which is really good since it has been over a week since her last one.(Answered prayer)
Yesterday, they started doing the feeding tube feeds more on a regime of how normal meal times would be
It has been really rough being up here and watching our baby girl go through this.
They say its good to have pictures of her with her family and friends up here on posters. However this is something I have been struggling through. Trying to go through my pictures to get them organized and looking at all of those happy pictures of her and then seeing her like this, That's just when the tears really start to flow and then I just have to stop looking through my pictures of her because the last thing she needs is her momma up here crying. She needs her momma up here calm, praying and declaring Gods word over her while being her #1 Cheerleader. So with that being said, if anybody does have pictures with Paxtyn and would like to print them off and send them up to us, that would be wonderful. That way she can start getting more pictures up here.
Today's specific prayers
Praying
Her body temperature to stay down and to have no more fevers.
She starts making more purposeful movements.
And she starts moving that right leg. She needs that right leg to loosen up. She just keeps it super tight with no movement.
For her body to relax and fists not to stay clinched because when she starts clinching those fists is when her heart rate and vitals spike up
She needs the neurostorming that they say is going on right now to calm down.
Gods peace over her through this whole process.
Paxtyn is a fighter. She always has been and she always will be.
The bible teaches us that God was there even in the midst of famine, wars, flood and even storms. God is with us always and promises to never leave us nor forsake us. Gods nature never changes. God is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever. I Know without a shadow of a doubt God is right here with Paxtyn and our family and he will continue to be with her and each one of us every step of the way. I know she is coming out of this completely healed. We will be fervently praying and standing in Faith and waiting on Gods perfect time!
