On Fire for Jesus VBS: Day 4- The Real One True God 🔥

Josie opened us up in prayer. We did our pledges and started with worship. Today Miss Hope taught us the story of Elijah and the prophets of baal. We learned: 1) that God is the one true God. 2) God spoke to His people through prophets. 3) You don’t have to put on a show for God to move. 4) He can start a fire even in drenched wet conditions! We had dirt pudding cups with gummy worms for snack. For worship class, we missed Miss Ashley and Jaslyn, but we hope the Gatwoods win their tournament! Today Miss Hope taught us that worship is not a show to put on for others, but a personal exchange from our heart to God. It matters not only what we do or believe, but who we worship and believe in. Then we got to hear testimonies about what worship means to Miss Stacey and Miss Crystal. Next we had craft time and colored a picture of Elijah’s alter with fire from Heaven. It was another warm sunshiny evening outside where we ended the night with a slip and slide!

On Fire for Jesus VBS: Day 3- The Fourth Man in the Fire 🔥

Gwenalyn opened us up in prayer. We did our pledges and started with worship. Today Miss Hope taught us the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace. We learned: 1) that God is always with us. 2) He is the only we should worship. 3) Our faith and God’s faithfulness help others see He is the true God!We made a fiery furnace with 4 men for our craft. Miss Ashley taught us that prayer is just talking to God like our best friend! She also reminded us we talk to him while doing dishes or going to sleep at night, just including Him in our day. It was another beautiful day, so we spent the rest of the night outside. Ray built us a fire for s’mores and we had hotdogs for our snack. To wrap up the night, we used a water fire extinguisher to hit a target. It shot REALLY far!

On Fire for Jesus Vacation Bible School: Day 2

Marcellus opened us up in prayer. We did our pledges and started with worship. Today Miss Hope taught us about Moses’ life and His encounter with God and a burning bush. We learned that when God tells us to do something He is enough to do it! Especially when we are unqualified. It was so beautiful outside, our craft and activity were done in the sunshine. We used our hands to paint burning bushes and Miss Stacey made one with us! Tyler came up with this cool game where we put out a “fire” with water sprayers, it was so fun! Miss Ashley taught us that when we worship, we should give God our total focus. Worship is not just a dance or performance we do. We get to connect with God and show Him that we appreciate how wonderful He is! We wrapped up the night with questions and prizes.

If you weren’t there tonight we missed you! Our first night at VBS was 🔥🔥, literally!

Josie opened us in prayer, then we did our pledges to the Bible, Christian Flag, and US flag. God was warming us up in worship (videos to come!). Miss Hope taught us about altars and sacrifices. How God uses fire in the Bible to refine, guide, and speak to us. Miss Ashley and Jaslyn taught us that how we live our life is a form of worship. We had snack and created our own light to shine Jesus. Our last activity taught to follow the light with flash light red light/green light. Thank you to all of our friends who came tonight! We hope to see you the rest of this week as we get “on fire for Jesus!”
