Come worship with us today! Our service starts at 10:30 a.m., with worship in song, then Pastor Dave with share a message on how a Good and Beautiful Community exemplifies Unity as we are united in Christ. ➑️Severe Flooding Impacts Communities in Texas

Heavy rainfall from former Tropical Storm Edouard has caused severe flooding across parts of Texas after the storm made landfall near the Texas-Louisiana border on September 1. Some communities received nearly two feet of rain, flooding roads and homes, bringing down trees and power lines, and leaving thousands without electricity. Emergency responders have rescued people from stranded vehicles and flooded homes, while residents in some of the hardest-hit areas have been urged to stay off the roads as hazardous conditions continue.

As communities begin to assess the damage, emergency personnel, local organizations, churches, and volunteers are working to support people affected by the flooding. Families facing damaged homes, power outages, and disrupted daily life may need continued assistance as recovery efforts move forward. Please pray for all those navigating the immediate impact of the flooding and for those serving communities during the response and recovery.

πŸ™ Lord, we pray for all those affected by the severe flooding in Texas. Protect families and communities facing dangerous conditions, and provide shelter, safety, and the resources they need. Give strength and wisdom to emergency responders, volunteers, churches, and organizations serving those affected. Comfort those who have experienced loss and bring hope to communities as they begin to recover. Lord, hear our prayers.

➑️ Bringing Clean Water Closer in Rwanda

In Rwanda, a Water Access, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project is bringing hope to communities where families have long faced challenges accessing safe water. Hosted by a local Nazarene church, the project is developing a community water system while also equipping local leaders and residents to help manage and sustain it. A local WASH committee has been trained, and the church and community have worked together throughout the planning and implementation of the project.

One community member in Nyagatare shared that accessing water once meant traveling long distances and sometimes arriving to find many others waiting. She expressed gratitude for a project that is bringing clean water closer to families like hers. As the project has moved toward completion, community members have participated in planning and implementation, while the local church has helped mobilize volunteers, coordinate with local leaders, and support the work.

πŸ™ Lord, we thank you for the progress of this project and for the hope it is bringing to families in Rwanda. We praise you for the local church, community leaders, and residents working together to make safe water more accessible. Continue to guide the remaining work and strengthen those who will care for and sustain the water system in the years ahead. May this project continue to reflect your love through practical care for the community. Lord, hear our prayers.

"Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God." (Romans 6:8-10)
