Thought for the Day: God’s Timing Is Not Accidental

Reflection for the Day: He Leaves Nothing To Chance


On the fiftieth day after the Passover, devout Jews gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Harvest, otherwise known as Pentecost. It was at this appointed time that the promise of the Father fell upon those who had been sent to the upper room. It was not by accident, but according to the time chosen by God. The message first heard in Jerusalem would now be carried to every nation under heaven; God leaves nothing to chance.

As you look over your life, perhaps there have been occasions when you thought the timing of certain events was simply accidental. What has occurred has not been by chance, but by the direct timing of God; He leaves nothing to chance.

Mark 8:24-25 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

Thought for the Day: God Has No Limits

Reflection for the Day: There Is More To Come; Don’t Settle For Less


A blind man was brought to Jesus, that he might be healed. In a unique manner, Jesus led him out of the town. After anointing the man’s eyes with spittle and laying his hands on him, he asked the man what he saw. “I see men as trees, walking,” was his response. Jesus then laid his hands on him a second time and had him look up; he now saw clearly. Jesus is a God with no limits. There is no need to settle for less than His full will.

You will experience times in your walk with God when, apart from others, He will interact with you personally. As He moves in your life, remind yourself that God has no limits. You must not settle for less; there is more to come.

Thought for the Day: Your Future Is In The Hands Of God

Reflection for the Day: Your Assignment Is To Walk In Faith


That God’s people might be encouraged, Moses was instructed to send out twelve spies to view the rich land of Canaan. The walled cities and the soldiers of the land did not matter to God. All of that was safely in His hands. Unfortunately, when the spies saw the land, they focused not on its richness, but on what they perceived to be the obstacles. They did not walk in faith.

As the Lord reveals the rich blessings He has in store for you, do not allow your mind to focus on the obstacles. What you see as reasons you cannot overcome, be assured, all remains safely in His hands. Simply walk in faith and watch the Lord bring every promise to pass.

Thought for the Day: Satan Seeks To Destroy You; Stand Firm

Reflection for the Day: Be Prepared To Resist Steadfastly


It is a fact that Satan seeks to destroy the relationship that exists between the child of God and God. Through lies, difficult times, or any means possible, he will endeavor to cause the believer to lose hope and walk away from the Lord. Realizing this, one must be prepared through prayer and the knowledge of the Word to resist steadfastly.

You are Satan’s target. As a faithful believer, you will find yourself the object of his attacks. Your weapons are not carnal, but they are mighty. You are able to prepare yourself for each and every one of his attacks by covering yourself with the Word and prayer. Resist steadfastly, knowing that God is your protector.

Thought for the Day: When God Says To Wait; Wait

Reflection for the Day: Obedience Is Essential


Prior to His departure, Jesus commanded His disciples to go to Jerusalem and wait. They were to remain there until they received the promise of the Father. Their obedience was essential to what lay before them. There could be no deviation.

As God directs your steps, it is essential that you obey as He commands. As you recognize that He knows the plans He has for you and what is necessary for your success, place your trust in His hands. Obey; it is essential.

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Thought for the Day: In The Midst Of Temptation Stand Fast; Your Deliverance Has Been Prepared

Reflection for the Day: You’re Coming Out Stronger Than Ever Before


James makes it clear to his readers that temptation comes to all. As they patiently stand fast in the Word, God reveals His power and His love. As they wait on God, they discover that the very thing that made them uncomfortable is part of the process perfecting them.

You will face times of temptation. It may not come the way you expected, but no matter how it comes, stand firm in the Word. Be assured that God has already made a way of escape. Wait patiently; you are being perfected. You are coming out stronger than ever before.

Thought for the Day: Those Whom God Blesses Are Blessed

Reflection for the Day: The Circumstances or Location Matter Not to God


Joseph, hated by his brothers, found himself in Egypt after being sold as a slave. As a servant to Potiphar, it became apparent that all he oversaw prospered. He had been blessed by God, and neither his circumstances nor his location could change that.

When God puts his hand upon someone, it matters not where they are or what circumstances surround them. As you go forth in your journey, stay focused on pleasing God, having confidence that whom he blesses shall be blessed.

Reflection for the Day: There Is No Need To Doubt; God Will Respond


James encourages those who lack wisdom to ask the Lord, who gives liberally to all who ask. The only criteria are that they must ask with faith. They cannot allow doubt to enter in; their trust in God must be demonstrated as they seek His response.

As you beseech the Lord for the gifts that He intends for your life, do so with expectation. There is no need to doubt, for it is God’s intention to bless you. He will surely respond.

Reflection for the Day: He Is Your Rewarder


The chapter focuses on the importance of faith. Faith is essential in our walk with God. It is based not on one’s works but on one’s belief in God. It is with faith that we must seek Him. Those who do quickly learn that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

The key is where your focus is. As you devote yourself to seeking God, you will discover that He is your rewarder. It will demand your faith, but as you diligently seek Him, you will not be disappointed.

Reflection for the Day: Some Instruction Will Be Presented Only To You


In being prepared for the leadership roles they would assume, Peter, James, and John spent time apart from the others. On one occasion, Jesus took the three of them by themselves to a high mountain, revealing who He was. All that they encountered was a part of the training needed for what was before them.

Your learning process never ends. That you may be prepared for what lies ahead, there will be occasions when God shares directly with you. Stay focused on Him, maintaining a desire to continue to grow. You are being prepared for what lies before you.
