Congratulations to the Copeland family for being recognized as Family of the Month by the council. Pictured are (L to R) Austin, Nichole and Steven.

We frequently see Nichole and Steven serving as Communion Ministers. Nichole frequently serves as Lector and sometimes both. Austin, Nichole and Steven all serve as ushers when needed. Austin also sings in the choir.

Our Brother Knight and friend Pete Pickett has passed away. He left surrounded by a devoted and loving family he built with his late wife Debbie. Though his body was weakened by cancer, his deep Catholic faith was at its peak as he departed. He will be remembered first and foremost for his unceasing love of Jesus Christ and his devotion to praying for the intercession of Our Mother Mary by the Holy Rosary.

Pete was a 21-year, Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and rose to the office of Grand Knight quickly, serving in that capacity from 2008 to 2010. He later served as the President of the Kelly Memorial Corporation from 2011 to 2012 and put in 10 years of service as a Trustee for the council. At the state level, he served for 10 years as the chairman of the Oklahoma Knights of Columbus scholarship program.

His most visible role in our council, however, was his 14-year run as Santa Claus at the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Children's Christmas Party, a role he loved so very much. His love of the children was returned in kind each year with a hero's welcome the second he climbed down from his "sleigh" generously provided by the Yukon Fire Department.

An unofficial tradition of his Santa appearances was a picture with him and his great friend, our Worthy Financial Secretary, Gary Goldsboro, sitting on his lap. In his final appearance as Santa for us, Gary's son, Gary, Jr., and grandson Knox were added to the annual photo op!

Pete served his country and was a veteran of Vietnam. His love of military aviation became a hobby and a business with his son, Tony (See: Pappy's WWII Aircraft Whirligigs and a B-24 Liberator replica pictured here, presented in 2025 to one of our members), and there are many aircraft enthusiasts around the country and world who mourn with us today.

We thank God for the gift of Pete's life and for the holy example he set for many. May his soul find repose and eternal joy in the presence of Christ. We continue to lift his family and friends in prayer and ask God to grant them peace and solace.

Funeral arrangements are pending, but we will share them as they become available.

Please renew your prayers for our Brother Pete Pickett. May he be uplifted by our prayers and strengthened by Christ's Passion.

Please keep our Brother Pete Pickett (3rd from left) in your constant prayers, as his bout with cancer has taken a painful turn.

Though his body is weak, Pete is spiritually in his prime, praying the Rosary frequently, including this afternoon (Sunday) with our Grand Knight and Past Grand Knight. He is so very grateful for all your prayers and is uplifted by them!

Our Brother Knight Bill Bare, 80, passed away yesterday after a multi-year fight against cancer.

Bill was a 47-year member of the Knights of Columbus and an Honorary Life member. While he was not recently able to participate in K of C meetings or events, he was still a big help to the council by occasionally making monetary donations.

May God grant his family peace and solace in their time of grief, and may his soul be welcomed with open arms into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Last night, our dear friend Pat Stang was entrusted to Christ's eternal embrace. She led a long, happy, and Christ-centered life, and we know her family and many friends will miss her so deeply. Funeral arrangements are pending, and we'll share in due time.

For now, this is one of the many fond ways we'll remember her:

We have another urgent prayer request this morning. Please add Pat Stang to your intentions today. Pat has been ailing from cancer and entered in-home hospice care this weekend. We are praying that the Lord grants her total comfort and as much time as possible to share with her family and close friends and invite you to do the same.

Pat is the widow of our Brother Knight Jerry Stang and the 2025 recipient of the Joseph Baumann Christian Loyalty Award.
