We are a small, welcoming church committed to creating a space of grace, belonging, and peace. All are welcome here — people of EVERY background, life experience, status, and identity. You don’t have to fit a mold to belong. Worship is held Sundays at 11:00 AM. On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate communion, and all who wish to receive are welcome. Communion is currently presided over by Pastor John Runckel (Pastor Emeritus). You are welcome whether you’re returning to church, trying it for the first time, or simply looking for a quiet place to breathe. David Ofahulu has been appointed as our Lay Person Assigned and will begin serving in February 2026. During this season of transition, worship leadership is shared by several caring leaders, including Pastor John Runckel (Pastor Emeritus), Pastor Charlene Ryan-Moore (retired), Lay Leader Mark Marshall, and Rev. Moonyoung Lee, District Superintendent. We’re a simple church doing our best to love our neighbors well. We’re here to love well, walk alongside one another, and offer a place of hope and peace in the desert. God isn’t done with us — and there’s room for YOU here! Small church, mighty hearts—and so much growing 🤍🌈

Our youth program is starting up and we’re building our music ministry. This past weekend, our lay leader Marker shared her musical gifts, surrounded by the warmth of our church family.

There’s something special about a small-town church where everyone is welcome and there’s room for you, too. If coloring helps you feel comfortable or focus while you listen, we have tables with crayons and colored pencils—and the cover of our weekly program is ready for you to color.

Yesterday at YVUMC, we talked about vineyards and all that God has entrusted to us. 🍇

It got us thinking… maybe YVUMC is our little vineyard—and we’ve got some work to do!

Thankfully, we’ve got plenty of good people, a lot of love, and God leading the way.

Grateful for our church family! ❤️

Privilege can be uncomfortable to talk about.

Sometimes we hear the word and immediately think it means we’ve done something wrong, or that our own struggles somehow don’t count.

But Sunday’s message invited us to look at it differently.

Privilege can simply mean recognizing the places where the road may have been a little smoother for us than it was for someone else — and then asking what we choose to do with that awareness.

Do we notice who is being left out?
Do we listen when someone’s experience is different from ours?
Do we use what we’ve been given to make room at the table?

Faith isn’t only about what we believe.

It’s also about how we see one another.

And sometimes growth begins with being willing to notice what we may not have noticed before.

What is one way we can use what we’ve been given to make someone else’s road a little easier?
