The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints plans to deliver over 27,000 pounds of food per day to food banks, homeless shelters, and public food pantries for those in need throughout the US in 2026.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has launched a nationwide effort to feed the hungry in 2026, delivering 250 trucks of food—each containing 40,000 pounds, totaling 10 million pounds—to communities in all 50 states. The donations are being distributed through 250 food banks and missions nationwide to provide meals for those facing food insecurity and homelessness. In Los Angeles, three several missions—the Midnight Mission, Los Angeles Mission, and The Dream Center—received a truckload of food including rice, beans, oats, pasta, and peanut butter, helping serve tens of thousands of meals each week. The initiative reflects the Church’s commitment to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ by helping those in need and feeding the hungry across the nation, regardless of background or religious affiliation.
