Holy Saturday: The Silence Won't Last Forever.

It's 9:00 p.m. on Holy Saturday, and for some of you, the house feels too quiet tonight.

In years past, this night was filled with the smell of mac and cheese baking, greens simmering on the stove, pound cake cooling on the counter. The sound of the hot comb sizzling through hair. The rustle of Easter outfits laid out and ready for Sunday morning.

But tonight? Silence.

Maybe this is your first Easter without them. Without Mama. Without Daddy. Without Grandma. Without the one who made Easter feel like Easter.

The grief is real. The emptiness is heavy. And it's okay to sit in that tonight.

But here's what Holy Saturday teaches us:

The silence doesn't last forever.

Jesus was in the tomb. The disciples were in despair. The world felt like it had gone dark. But Sunday was coming—they just didn't know it yet.

And Sunday is still coming.

The resurrection is real. Jesus yet lives. And because He lives, one day, you'll see them again. Not in memories. Not in dreams. But face to face, worshipping together in the presence of the King who made it all possible.

So tonight, rest in the sacred silence. Let the memories be sweet and comforting. Let them encourage your heart.

Because Sunday morning is coming. And with it, the promise that death doesn't get the final word. Death lost and love won. Jesus Christ is risen—He is risen indeed. His resurrection is our hope. Amen.

Good Friday: The Weight of Love.

We've been slowing down all week. Being present. Walking this journey with Christ.

And now we're here.

The day everything changed.

This is the day Jesus carried the weight of the world on His shoulders. The day He was mocked, beaten, and nailed to a cross. The day heaven went dark and the earth trembled.

This is the day love looked like suffering.

It's heavy. It's painful. It's supposed to be.

Don't rush past the grief of this moment. Don't skip to Sunday just because it's easier.

Sit with the weight of what He endured—the betrayal of friends, the cruelty of the crowd, the agony of every breath. Feel the depth of what He sacrificed. Let the reality of the cross settle into your soul.

He didn't have to do it. But He did it anyway.

For you. For me. For a world that didn't deserve it.

He could have called down legions of angels. He could have stepped off that cross. But love held Him there—love for you, love that chose suffering over abandoning us.

Good Friday isn't good because it feels good. It's good because love won—even when it looked like defeat.

So today, be still. Be grateful. Be broken open by the magnitude of His love.

Because Sunday's coming. But first, we honor what Friday cost.

Slow down. Be still. Let Him meet you at the cross.

Holy Monday: He Kept Walking.

Jesus knew what was waiting for Him in Jerusalem.

The betrayal. The arrest. The cross.

He could have turned around. He could have stayed in Bethany where He was safer. Where people loved Him. Where no one was plotting His death.

But on this Monday, He got up and walked back into the city anyway.

That's the kind of courage Holy Week demands.

Not the kind that pretends everything is fine. Not the kind that avoids hard things. But the kind that looks suffering in the face and says, "I'm walking toward this on purpose."

On Holy Monday, Jesus went to the temple and cleared it out. He flipped tables. He confronted the religious leaders who had turned worship into a business transaction.

He made space for what mattered.

So here's the question for today: What are you walking toward that scares you? What hard thing is God calling you to face with courage?

And what needs to be cleared out so you can actually hear Him?

Holy Week isn't a spectator sport. It's an invitation to walk with Christ—even when the road gets hard.

So today, take the step. Clear the space. Walk with courage.

He's already leading the way.

Slow Down. It's Holy Week.

The noise can wait. The to-do list will still be there. But this week? This sacred stretch between Palm Sunday and Easter? It only comes once a year.

Don't rush through it.

Maybe Lent didn't go the way you planned. Maybe life happened—war broke out, gas prices exploded, the ground beneath us felt like it was shifting. The world demanded your attention, and suddenly, the quiet rhythms of prayer and fasting got interrupted.

It's okay. You can still start now.

These are the days that changed everything. The betrayal. The suffering. The sacrifice. The resurrection that shook the world.

You don't need a perfect Lenten record to experience Holy Week. You just need to be present.

Savor these moments.

Sit with the weight of Maundy Thursday. Feel the grief of Good Friday. Let Holy Saturday's silence settle into your soul.

Because Sunday's coming—and it's not too late to walk this journey with Christ.

Slow down. Be still. Let Christ meet you right where you are.

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.[c]

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him a second time: “This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it—the LORD is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

2026 is about to be YOUR year.

Not because we're wishing on stars or manifesting vibes. But because God's already working behind the scenes on things you can't even see yet.

Those doors you've been praying about? They're unlocking. Those dreams that felt too big? He's making room for them. That breakthrough you've been waiting on? It's closer than you think.

And here's the thing about God's faithfulness — it doesn't just show up when everything's perfect. It shows up in the middle of your mess. In the confusion. In the waiting. In the moments when you're not sure how it's all going to work out.

His love doesn't depend on you having it all together. His security doesn't shake when your plans fall apart. His promises don't expire because you had a rough year.

So whatever 2026 holds — new opportunities, unexpected challenges, moments of pure joy, seasons of growth — you're not walking into it alone.

You're covered. Protected. Held by a God who sees every detail of your life and is actively working everything out for your good.

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." — Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

This is your year to trust bigger. Believe deeper. Step out with confidence knowing that God's got you.

Let's do this!

Blessings,
Rev. Christina
