Brothers & Sisters in Christ:

As you may know, there was a devastating fire last night in the Pleasant Valley Trailer community in Youngsville that claimed the lives of two children and critically injured a third. As reported by our friends at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, there is a GoFundMe account established (https://gofund.me/0c83f0ca3) to provide financial assistance to the surviving family members as they walk through this nightmare. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Never before had we come to know God in the way that we now know God. Through Jesus presenting us with a relatable, emotional love and life affirming God, God became real for many in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. I've come to think of this time as what I call the Age of Ascendance. Beyond the obvious reference to Jesus ascension, it is an age in which we are called to rise above our lower nature, not merely out of fear, but because we have seen the promise of eternal life. It is the age in which we must choose with spiritual maturity whether we will walk away from salvation or walk the way of salvation.
