We continue the First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown 2025-26 Speaker Series season with a luncheon and noon program on June 4, 2026. Join us as we welcome David Gibson, Ph.D., who will present “American Pope, America Church: What Leo XIV Means for U.S. Catholicism” at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road in Canfield.
David Gibson is an award-winning journalist and the director of Fordham University’s Center on Religion and Culture. He began his career covering the Vatican for Vatican Radio in Rome, reporting on Pope John Paul II’s travels and the election of Pope Benedict XVI, which he detailed in his book, Rule of Benedict: Pope Benedict XVI and His Battle with the Modern World.
