All are invited to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States with Mass on the Fourth of July at 9:00 am at St. Columba Cathedral. We hope to see you there!
We are asking for donations of baked goods for a reception afterwards. They can be dropped off at the Cathedral office on Thursday, July 2, before noon. The office will be closed on Friday, but donations can also be dropped off after the 10:30 am Mass on July 3rd at the Cathedral or after the 8:30 morning Mass at St. Edward.

Juneteenth is a significant date in American history and the African American experience. The name is a play on the date of June 19th, 1865. On that day, the Union Army made its way into Galveston, Texas, under the leadership of General Gordon Granger, and he announced to the people of Texas that all enslaved African Americans were free. The troops' arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
