As the Northeastern Ohio Synod, ELCA gathers for its Assembly and Bishop's election, we are holding them in prayer. May the Holy Spirit guide their discernment, bless their conversations, and lead them into God's future with hope.

Synod Assembly opened with worship today at University of Akron's John Knight Center. Business includes an election for synod bishop as well as other positions. Please pray for our delegates: Pastor Barb Holzhauser, Bon McDowall, Sausha Peakes, and Shirleyah Peakes, as well as our Pastor Julianne Smith attending as retired pastor, and all the staff and members of the assembly. This is God's work!

A Synod Assembly Prayer for Unity:

God of all, gather us as one body, though we come from many places. May your grace guide our decisions, your peace steady our hearts, and your joy be present among us. Let all that we do reflect your love for the world. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Day 1 of Synod Assembly is here!

Today we begin with worship, settle in, and get to work. Conversations will start, decisions will take shape, and the bishop election process begins.
